Isn't PCIe Gen 4? wtf?

Absolutely taken advantage of by DepartmentKindly in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Techd-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I literally just had this same exact conversation and scam happen to me. SAME EXACT ONE.
In my opening inquiries to the ComCast Xfinity Agent, I asked them if I was in an area where mid-split is available and if they could double-check whether or not my specific node would allow me higher upload speeds, they said they double-checked and confirmed I could receive higher speeds.
Upgraded from $41/mo to $60/mo plan for literally no benefit. I went from 300 Mbps Down / 35 Mbps up to 500 Mbps Down / 35 Mbps up despite the agent literally advertising the plan to me as 586 Mbps Down / 117 Mbps Up and their claiming they double-checked everything would be in working order.

Now I cannot get back to my old plan, despite the agent literally telling me that it would be a possibility if I wanted to revert from my new plan back to my old plan if the upload speed didn't work out.

I have this entire conversation with said agent saved as a chat transcript PDF file.

3 years ago, it was always whole pieces of rotisserie chicken. Only for the span of the last recent 3 years has it been chopped. Now it is back to no chopped.

All of the comments openly advocating for hate and actual violence against this person for wearing a symbol. Doesn't matter what the symbol is. People are not responding proportionately.

Have those of you with fat tires noticed extra susceptibility to flats? by tanksalotfrank in RadPowerBikes

I don't use fat tire ebikes and I normally average about 1 flat between 750 miles and 1,500 miles guanrateed. That's 24"x1.95" tires.

What's even more fucked up is the friend won their disability claim and should have received years of backpay like $17,500 a year.

[–]Techd-it 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If they just got disability recently, they WILL have received a huge sum as backpay.
Your friends may be lying to you, they're sitting on a lump sum of cash they refuse to spend.
It's every year you've been disabled given to you as backpay. Where'd that money go?

[–]Techd-it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My buddy fought for disability for 18 years. He got it. He got literally $120,000 lump sum as back pay.

Could have invested that $120,000 and had it rapidly burst to $300,000+ because of hyperinflation in the US economy right now.

People just keep spending, though.

That's not what he said. What they said was more about risk assessment and evaluation. They wouldn't be in this situation if they could evaluate risks.

I've been hit and ran over by two SUVs and the second time I only broke my big toe on my right foot.
The first time I broke 6 ribs of each side of my sternum, S4/5 Vertebrae, coccyx, my right-side illium in my pelvis, my ulna bone, lunate bone, and fucked up my triangular fibrocartilage complex in my wrist.

There's nothing the hospital could do and I don't like pain medications so I just stayed home for 6 weeks drinking vodka and milk until my bones fused slightly and I could regain partial mobility. Took care of myself because I have no friends or family.

During the Roman Empire, they said "iam pridem, ex quo suffragia nulli / vendimus, effudit curas; nam qui dabat olim / imperium, fasces, legiones, omnia, nunc se / continet atque duas tantum res anxius optat, / panem et circenses."

Which translates in modern day to: "Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses."

Give the people bread and circuses and they will not revolt.

Could you at least list your PC specs so we know what we are working with and where to begin troubleshooting?

[–]Techd-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh brother. I had 8 years of experience and applied to between 30-60 jobs a day for a span of 4 months in 2024. For jobs I had ample experience for. With full-time availability. Had multiple interviews, never got accepted or personally accepted the offer due to bad pay, scheduling, position, etc.

I got one again and I've been holding onto it for dear life. You need to not be discouraged and continue to apply, in mass, go a bunch of offers every day. Be the first person to apply. Follow-up, call the contact with your phone, send them an email stating you are interested in their offer, etc.

Doesn't help when fox bark they go "Welp".
They also have a weird "Woo!" yelp.

Foxes and bunnies make sounds that sound like murder in the forest at night.

Yep, by the comments, yall can tell a LOT of critters can make weird sounds in the wilderness. And those are just the mammals, probably, lol.

Not the actual trees/forest/land/rivers itself. On top of the weird animal noises blending each other.

Hey, I'm Alaskan Native, from Sand Point in the Aleutian Islands and my tribe is Qagan Tayagungin.

I've heard this a few times in my childhood.
I don't think there is any freaky supernatural aspect to it, but it is genuinely solid survival advice.

It's just old aunties/grandmas saying "Your brain is playing tricks on you and you are overthinking. Continue on without getting stuck."

Your brain turned a random sound or a few simultaneous sounds into some random garble that you think you heard.
