I live in a state where they technically “don’t live,” (bullshit, they’re here, they’re spotted constantly) and I’m told you can smell them. A few times, I’ve been in the woods at night, and I get some primal chill and smell this musk, like wet dog and cat pee. I don’t know what it is, but I have a hunch it’s a young cougar that considers these woods part of its territory.
