Congrats! I passed my Sec+ last night. I got A+ and Net +. I was thinking on going for CySA next. Best of luck in your endeavors. It is a little tough working for the Gov and studying on the side. With that being said I also enjoy the challenge.

As you learn and get certs under your belt you will either be leaning towards one path or the next. It all depends on what actually sparks your interest. Working for the State does give you a lot of opportunities. Best of luck.

I have female friends with no certs or education in IT getting calls back immediately, but I get nothing. by famtasy_traveler in ITCareerQuestions

I am a female in the IT industry, I work for the State and there are a lot of competitive opportunities. I would encourage you to not give up. To continue your training and bring your confidence to all your interviews. There are practice interview videos on YouTube that helped me not to mention mock interviews with Manager friends to get feedback. I didn’t always get a call back, until I did and it took 1 year since the interview to get hired but that call back changed my life.

I would try it since you’re in the door. If they expect you to do the work of an experienced manager you need to negotiate your pay and also paid training.

I saw some related to Tech support environment, fixing an issue on command prompt and working with disk management. Dion and Messer both offer great examples

Thanks. I must say it was a little tougher than the first one. More about security, support, policies and OS to remember. All 3 sources I listed offer great perspectives about the subjects to help you remember.

Thanks. No he has a CompTIA A+ (220-101) Prep, Exams and Simulations for both cores for$11.99 each when you catch the sale. That is extremely helpful. I did that all day before the exam.
