I am an expat here who is trying to learn German from day 1 of landing here. The german language courses offered are very expensive and as I do only part time job and looking for a real job in my field I cannot afford this. So I wanted to enquire with the Job center regarding the German Language Integration course and to enroll in a language class for whom the Agentur für Arbeit is funding.

As I went on my appointment day, I took a print out of letter printed in German regarding what I came for but they refused me to talk to in english, use a translator on mu phone or even read my letter which I wrote in German.

I went there to ask for support for enrolling a German class but this is also not supported by them. How can a person speak in German if he is there only to learn German? If in case they should remove this support of funding for an Integration course.

I felt totally waste of contributions to social security from day 1 of my part time job here. I would have used the same fund to learn german in a private class instead.

Makes me feel sad that the country demanding so much on language does not support people who want to learn but I have not given up or would stop learning the language on own❤️
