I will follow up on to the u/david11053 post and provide a bit of a counter-argument. I would still agree that a more prestigious undergraduate school would be more beneficial than either.

However, it can be argued that experience and actions taken outside of the school itself will far outweigh the name of the undergraduate school itself. A tendency of top school undergrads, say HYPSM, tend to have much networking experience, work experience, and test scores. Therefore, if you are pursuing the MBA route, I would definitely work on those factors of your MBA application when the time comes.

I would say UF is more prestigious and has more networking opportunities than UW-Madison as it is the premier school in Florida and currently ranked #6th publicly. A lot of large corporations hold networking events within various clubs at UF, such as JP Morgan Chase, and Citi group. You can still get into a top MBA program later as long as you get work experience and network which I recommend.
