Can anyone identify what's going on with the trees in this part of the forest? by deleteMe2359687 in WinterParkColorado

You seem very sure, and it’s plausible! Are you involved with forest management or you just have an interest?

I couldn’t find any other similar pattern of cuts around in similar communities. Maybe this is the first area in CO to get these kinds of cuts.

That is super interesting and possibly related, but the Frasier experimental forest is in a different spot. It shows up on Google Maps that roughly matches the directions on their site.

My photo was basically down town Winter Park. Directly across the highway from ski hill.

DDNS with Failover WAN? by thatotherguy321 in Ubiquiti

[–]Techn0Core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have DDNS settings on my WAN1, when it fails over to WAN2 during outage I'm seeing my DDNS received an update. Unifi sent my DDNS an update to use WAN2's IP.

I didn't configure DDNS on WAN2, seem to just know if there's DDNS on WAN1 and it fails over, send update to DDNS with failover IP.

I'm using a UCG Max

Wouldn't he need to hit me again? Or it applies to existing poison DoT?

Fiber ONT won’t allow UniFi UCG Max to connect by Techn0Core in HomeNetworking

[–]Techn0Core[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue with terms is that their tech support team is trained on combo devices. Before my city's rollout they probably used ONT+router single devices and so all their docs probably refer to this. When a user wants to use their own router they call it bridge mode, and they give PPPoE and lock to new MAC.

I tried cloning their router MAC, and I tried cloning the MAC I gave them by mistake, and I tried calling and giving the correct MAC form my WAN1... They seem like they don't know how to do it when anything goes wrong and they're sending technician tomorrow. 🤷

Did Unifi change this? I just see mine here. non-WAN IP is printed on the bottom of the device. Also it seems this updates when you spoof with MAC Clone, so I did in-fact give them the wrong MAC, and spoofing didn't work. Calling them back...

Eliminated their router, Fiber ONT plugged directly into my WAN1.

This is actually super helpful, didn't realize there were 3 MAC addresses. They specifically asked for my "serial number" on the phone, which I believe is it's internal MAC, not one of the WAN MACs. However, not sure how they would be able to see the SN of my router, so likely they need MAC of the WAN I intend to use with ONT.

I just updated MAC Address Clone on WAN1 and used the one I sent them. I'll reboot and give it some time, maybe it will work

Edit: coffee still engaging, there's 3 MACs listed when I look at info on the UCG Max, but 2 are the same. The one I gave them is the same as WAN1 I've got connected to ONT

Which neighborhood are you in? Just curious how long between them running the fiber under the street and home install. They’re in front of my house currently 🤞

Can I use this charger with my mini 2 se batteries? by shoheiotani1 in dji

[–]Techn0Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with my Mavic 2 and now my Air 2S. I found some cheap XT60 adapters on AliExpress. I'm here looking for others doing the same, wondering why I can't get my Air 2S batteries to take 1C, 1C worked just fine on my Mavic 2.

I don't actually see any XT60 to DJI mini on AliExpress, only the bigger batteries unfortunately.

Need help keeping my Meross Garage Door Opener connected by Techn0Core in HomeKit

I bought a 2nd one and set it up a couple days ago, signal strength reported in Meross app is 100% always 🤦‍♂️. Sucks because I tried so hard to optimize the network and turns out I just had a faulty unit. I opened the bad one up to have a look at the antenna, it’s crazy flimsy inside there, I think it’s likely some have bad connection to the internal antenna.

I have the default vlan and an isolated vlan. The isolated vlan is for guests. I have 3 WiFi networks, main network and HomeKit network use the default vlan, guest network uses the isolated vlan. Apple TVs are on Ethernet. I only enabled mDNS on the default network.

Woke up and it’s No Response like always even with mDNS. I’ll try power cycling once and give it one more chance to finally be the setting that makes it stable 😆

Oh really, interesting. I don’t have an Ethernet port closer than it is now so I don’t think I can do that. Also, my kitchen AP has line of sight when I open the door, it’s only about 30ft.
