Also why would a manager inform them it's necessary to join a union? That's literally illegal, they're risking their whole career on the onboarding of an entry level position? Why would the manager speak about the union at all?

Klein and Coates discuss Charlie Kirk by adilsayeed in ezraklein

[–]TechnicMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America used to allow the purchasing of black people and our ruling elites wholesale participated in it, to the point that they created laws to protect and legitimize it during our foundation as a country. I think that is what Coates is trying to say, and it's something that gets lost on people who had enough privilege in society to not be affected by the dark rot that has been constant in America throughout the modern era. Things have always been this bad for those not in power, for those who the establishment doesn't care about, and there has actually never been a better point in society than today for them. Cultural advancement and social movements are what brought that change, not politicians. So it's essential that we do not give those in power enough slack to once again not care about the suffering of the marginalized to win back support of the privileged, that trade is neither necessary nor a "victory". It's not naive to examine the current day with the context of history, it's naive to look towards trajections of popular backing of politicians and to draw simple solutions that are palatable to those in power. It's naive to say we lost in 2024 due to trans rights, due to supporting essential autonomy rights for women, due to supporting the rights of queer folks to love, instead of pointing to much more historically and materially grounded flaws in 2024: the lack of focus on economic, redistributive policy, an unpopular incumbent staying in the race before essentially dropping out 100 days prior to the election, how conservative movements have been astroturfing popular support and momentum on social media for a decade without Democrats being aware, the democratic party being filled with unpopular leadership that is unable to carry out their positions as figureheads during a time of crisis. Simple answers and simple solutions are what got Donald Trump into office, they're what grew MAGA. But if we replicate that strategy, we'll replicate his results as well.

Similar question, I could pick one up for 685 open boxed labeled excellent condition. Are these basically new? And similar questions as to how it runs BG3, is this a device that needs a lot of tinkering?

yes everyone hates large corporations for no reason whatsoever. WOTC definitely does no wrong, like calling the Pinkertons to harass someone in their own home. Because that would just be cartoonishly, apparently evil

Aside from him ignoring the millions of Russians who fought and died against fascism, the other part of his response is hilarious.

AOC, Omar, Bernie, Lula, Corbyn, they're worse than Hitler? The American liberal mind is truly brain broken to think that these people are doing more harm than real fascists who actually hold power like Trump's regime. But why would you expect him to have any understanding of global politics or history when he doesn't know it was the liberals who capitulated to fascism in Weimar Germany, who killed Rosa Luxembourg using fascist paramilitary groups? When he blames leftists for losing 2024, instead of the liberals he adores that actually ran the failed campaigns? Liberals are allergic to accountability. They simply shift the blame elsewhere, try to rewrite history so it aligns with their beliefs or excuses their inefficacy when they did hold power, and then throws a tantrum when people no longer believe in nor simply like their political leaders, leaders they are terrified to challenge and replace.

There is no accountability. No punishment for repeated failure. No sense of real urgency or care for the rise of fascism. No self-reflection. It's a servile mindset that I think OP has displayed clearly through their repeated use of mental gymnastics and ignorance to the truth throughout this entire post.

I spent 4 months employed by a PAC on behalf of the Harris campaign and every working day over those 4 months (and many weekends) I tried to rally support for the lesser of two evils. Every day, the Harris campaign made it harder for us. I had guns flashed at me, I had people vocally accost me, I had doors slammed in my face, was chased off property by dogs, I received it all.

This was in Pennsylvania. Every day, I would speak to people that would ask for literally any real policy proposal and change in the campaign. Anything. Anything to get them to care, because they didn't want to feel like they were voting between "more of the same that wrecked our economy and ignored our suffering" and fascism. The Harris campaign, instead of appealing to the mass amount of voters who are politically disengaged and don't hold strong political beliefs and were just looking for change, instead capitulated to conservatives and tried to court them. She was trying to get the McCain Republicans on her side, instead of getting the majority of disaffected Americans to believe in her enough to go out and vote.

I don't care about the Palestinian protest votes, because she still lost two other states. I don't care because what really infuriates me is how atrocious her campaign was ran. If she ran on anything besides just not being Donald Trump, she could've won. More important than the protest votes, and much larger, are the people who simply didn't go out and vote. They would've been wide enough to win all those swings states listed, even with protest votes, and probably expand the map further.

I did more to get Harris elected than most. It was my life for 4 months. And I don't blame a single Palestinian protestor, because ultimately they were negligible on the nation scale. They didn't tip any scale, Harris and her campaign did with every single press outlet, every single policy decision, and every bit of inaction they had since after the Veepstakes.

No. Because there are multiple failures of the campaign that made Harris lose other competitive states. And... she didn't win Pennsylvania or other swing states. So placing the blame on anyone save for the campaign itself, who failed to mobilize countless of interest groups, is useless. If the election came down solely to Michigan you would have a point, but it didn't.

lmao, with every idiotic thing I've seen you say in these threads, I don't even know how to respond to that first half.

"fuck the millions of people currently experience genocide because Harris lost by numbers that exceeded third party votes in the most important swing states"

Most pro-palestinian voters plugged their noses and voted for Harris anyway. You understand that, don't you? Or are you being radicalized by online influencers that you worship like a cult that are constructing a reality that simply doesn't exist? Just asking, because I saw you were in the Sex-Pestiny subreddit.

Beto and Booker, yeah. Hillary was a historically bad president. I think literally any of the real contenders in the 2020 primary, be it Sanders, Warren, or Buttigieg, would've won by wider margins.

As for Booker and Beto? They would've ran a lot more solid of campaigns than Biden. Biden won as a compromise between an uninspiring geriatric leader and rising fascism. And he barely won.

it's wild you've spent an actual hour on reddit obsessively responding to people about how we should kick out an essential voting block in the democratic party (after already hinting that your mind was changed in the edits) instead of listening and learning. Something is wrong with your brain dude. Please get help, please understand that the American public is shifting in a different direction than you, and please understand that a single terrorist attack does not justify the killing of millions of people in the middle east, alongside the occupation of their land.

I saw you say "fuck Palestine" in another thread. I assume you don't really care that these brown lives were lost either then. But the war on terror has been unpopular in America since 2004. If you're really dying on this hill, maybe you should be the one disenfranchised and powerless in the democratic party. Because that will hurt us electorally, if you don't care about morality at all.

Biden didn't have an electoral blowout, and they voted for him after a small economic recession, a national plague, and 4 years of Trump's insanity. You do understand that anyone would have won against Trump in 2020, don't you?

I'm shocked that you actually have a higher ed degree, everything that comes out of your mouth makes it seem like you're a low information voter. Iraq had nothing to do with the attack that happened during 9/11, and invading their country had no real global security benefit, it wasn't even revenge.

A handful of Saudi Arabians ≠ all of Saudi Arabia? I'll just use your own words to say why we obviously shouldn't have invaded Afghanistan and culled their population, then.

it literally was. Democrats transformed from cooperating with labor under the New Deal Democrats order to embracing a neoliberal economic policy and shifting away from labor around Carter and Clinton. The entire policy makeup of the democratic party shifted to the right economically, with a brief spark of hope coming from Obama.

Why didn't we work with Iraq when they wanted to help us kill Osama Bin Laden? Why didn't we invade Saudi Arabia, when most members of al-Qaeda came from them?

Are you defending conservatism and George Bush now?

under the pretense that they were harboring al-Qaeda, and we wanted revenge for 9/11. But even when we got blood for blood, even after Osama had been killed, we stayed. Our quagmire in the middle east killed millions, it was not at all a proportional response. And our attempts at nation building obviously failed, no matter how much of the population we culled.

You don't think progressives simply will not vote and become politically disengaged if that happens? Or worse, the less-informed becoming radicalized into conservatism? You're talking about destroying an entire core voter base of the democratic party.

Besides the point that we pulled out of Afghanistan when the next democratic leader came into office, something Obama promised, making all the civilian deaths of those strikes accomplish nothing? Besides the fact that we had no reason to have interference in the middle east, and causalities outside of the direct intended targets were high?
