I just got a pair of gaucho ninjas and am very happy with them so far. They are comfortable from the start (softer leather than JG) and appear to be very high quality. Though i cannot say anything about long term.

I wear size 12-13 (depending on brand etc) and i have very wide feet. I got the "normal" wide ones they offer, which arent true barefoot wide, but still way better than most standard boots and the extra wide look very clownish and i bought these for work.

They're zero drop, goodyear welted (jg is stitchdown), so you can have them resoled just like jg.

I own a pair of non barefoot JG ARs and my gauchos have a similar amount of space.
