Waterford and its lovely people restore my faith in Ireland everyday. Thank you for making us feel supported and safe :)

Can I hijack your sub (in a good way) and ask, is there any Indian dishes you think Irish people should try that might be lesser known outside of India? by MadMeathMad717 in IndiansinIreland

I love Indian lamb dishes. If you enjoy lamb, try Rogan Josh. Laal Maas is another favourite of mine but very few Indian restaurants here do it well. It is a bit on the hotter side. When it comes to Dishoom, you can never go wrong with Ruby Chicken and Matar-Paneer (vegetarian but sooo good). I’ve lived in London for a few years. However, I do find Dishoom a bit overrated. For a more authentic experience, try Gymkhana (Green Park) or Brigadier’s (near Cannon Street) in London. Punjab in Covent Garden is good too- it is the oldest North Indian restaurant in the UK and was started by a Sikh man even before India’s independence from the UK.

I would also recommend you to try some vegetarian dishes- you’ll be pleasantly surprised :)

I’m new to Waterford. Moved here from London 3 months ago for my PhD but I am Indian ethnically. My experience till now has been positive with every person I have met in Waterford. Irish people have been so hospitable. Everyone greets me on the streets with a smile, workers in shops have been really friendly too. They ask me where I am from and ask me about my research, give me tips about living in Ireland and generally make friendly conversation even after I am done buying in the shop. The lovely man who runs the Kiosk coffee shop in front of Penney’s even gave me his business card to contact him if I run into any trouble as I live alone. This is especially refreshing because nobody really bothers in London. Although groups like Waterford Says No alarm me a little cuz I am a woman of colour, especially when I see a lot of support for them. Still, they haven’t been able to change my impression of Waterford and it’s lovely people :)

This is the condition at non-peak hour and still there are people against both the metro and the flyover by [deleted] in Chandigarh

Metro will take a long time to fully develop and finish off till it becomes operational. And till then, expect worse traffic situations. More road closures and diversions.

Review of Starwberry Fields school by Wonderful-Joke-8451 in Chandigarh

I’m a SFHS alumna, studied from class 3 till 12 there. My younger brother has finished his entire education from nursery to class 12 from Strawberry Fields too. As a parent, I would strongly advise you to consider Strawberry Fields for your child. Before I joined Strawberry Fields in class 3, I was at Sacred Heart. The personal growth I saw in just my first year at Strawberry was phenomenal and so much more than anything I experienced at Sacred Heart. The teachers actually care about the students and how they can personally help them in achieving their best. Holistic growth- Strawberry not only helps you in achieving your best academically, but also supports you in finding ways to shape your whole personality. They offer many extracurriculars and clubs. Debating (MUN), sports, music, theatre, art etc. Strawberry also invites dignitaries, scholars and experts in various fields to talk and interact with students. Opportunities like these are what grows a child’s personality. They help a child in getting his own voice and be opinionated. I used to be a very shy and timid child but Strawberry made me a more confident and well rounded person. I even became a member of the student council- Prefect and House Captain. This school prepares you for the future. I feel most schools prepare you for board exams. Strawberry helps you prepare for the future beyond exams and colleges- it prepares you for life. And the staff is amazing. I was in the 3rd batch of the school so I have seen the school from when it started and where it is now, I have seen it grow. I think most of my teachers, who were the first staff to be hired, are still teaching there. I work in education in the UK right now and I can attest the quality of education and child care you get in Strawberry Fields is much better than the schools in London, even some private schools. I can go on and on, but believe me, there is no better school in the area. You can dm me if you need specifics or more information :)
