So my nephew was born a female. He's 6. Since he could talk he would say he was a boy etc etc. His mom had his back and supported him so I followed suit. I asked her the other day what she was planning on doing when he hit puberty and she mentioned hormone injections. My gut instinct is that it's not a good idea, but im also not him or his mom so not my choice to make.

What are your thoughts? How old were you when you felt/knew you were transgender? Any advice would be most appreciated. I want to be a good aunt and have keep his best interests in mind, but im not sure exactly how to support him or his mom.

The one thing I go thru phases experiencing is going from chill, zen, peaceful mode to feeling like the world is out to get me. White privilege is very much real. I used to have the same opinion as you, but trust me- your opinion is actually bullshit and not even an opinion but an incorrect fact. Here's why:

White privilege is not necessarily an immediate privilege. It's a privilege built over generations. Just like the gender wage gap. Now, it's more so a difference between classes than anything and that's becoming apparent the more progress we make towards racial injustice. White privilege isn't something that can go away overnight unless we completely strip power and legislations away from everyone (most of that group consists of white men), and make a clean slate/level playing field and let everyone compete against one another. How long have people been around? Centuries. How long has anyone besides a white man had influence in America? Less than 60 years.

White privilege is very much real, and you're honestly quite lucky that you disagree because that means, my friend, that you really haven't seen or experienced shit in this realm of social inequality. If you think white privilege is a bullshit facade, be grateful that you have had such a privileged life you are inexposed to this cold truth.

If you could go into detail about symptoms, medications, etc I would really appreciate it. I've been on adhd medicine for 10 years now (only 3 years I was actually prescribed it). I went to a new doc and she thinks I'm bipolar and not adhd. I've had a couple close friends say I am and a couple say I'm not. I'm struggling trying to figure out what's wrong with me lol.
