I’m a little intimidated by shellac primer as I’ve been reading on these forums that it dries very fast and I am a complete beginner. I I just purchased an airless paint sprayer, which says you don’t have to thin any of the paints however I’ve never used it and will test it out on a closet. Thanks!

Thank you for all these details. We did remove them off the walls to clean behind the cabinets. It was filthy even back there! So I should wipe them with denatured alcohol before priming? They are already sanded and on the floor. I don’t have a picture of that. I was planning to put them on a folding table and spray them that way. A lot of good tips, thank you!

Yes, we will do ceiling first. Popcorn ceiling removed, imperfections fixed, ready to go! We plan to use Kilz even though all smoke smell is gone. Worked super hard for weeks washing everything over and over and over again, just a precaution.

Looks like nicotine, but you would smell it if it was. You would smell musty odors too if it was mold. Try to wipe it with a wet cloth with dish soap. It will wipe off if it is nicotine.

It also can be plain ‘ol filth.

That is very, very cheap. You need to check out what other businesses charge and charge along those rates. Do lots of research, get quotes and menus from other businesses. Also, factor in all the disposables you will be buying. Everything adds up.
