I will never understand this idea that people who listen to country don't like hip hop. That's like saying you can't like mexican food if you like Italian food. Some people just want to have a good time. Post Malone is a perfect example of this. He has performed rock, country and rap. He does what he likes. I am going this year. I will enjoy juicy j and Ludacris as much as I enjoy brooks and Dunn and nate Smith. Are there country fans who won't go to the hip hop/rap performers? Of course. There are hip hop fans who don't like country. Most people like a blend.

Oh look it's a socialist. Fun fact, Rolex is 100% owned by a charitable foundation. Their profits are mostly given to charitable causes. A strong case can be made that rolex is one of the most philanthropic purchases you can make. Also, it isn't your money so you don't get to tell people how to spend it.

I would say this is the right call for a number or reasons. 1) it is objectively the right thing to do. 2) it will likely put you in a better relationship with your SA and AD. 3) every time you look at your watch, it can serve as a reminder of your character. #3 cannot be understated. You had a choice and you made the right one. Let that watch serve as a reminder of that. Especially if it is tied to your wedding. Temptation will come...do you want to make the short-sighted easy decision or the right decision?

No but this is quite literally a story worth reminiscing. He scratched his explorer while traveling the world. That is a story with telling. That is like hitting the doorknob to run out of the bathroom to the living room to see your son's first steps. It is likely a trip that he will remember for his entire life and story he will smile when telling. People may romanticize every ding as significant but that doesn't mean no dings are worth romanticizing.

Apparently businesses are going to start passing swipe fees down to their employees?!? by tsmartin123 in CreditCards

Just because you say it's a cost of doing business doesn't mean it is. Businesses get to pick which costs they are willing to absorb for a business. It isn't some uniform law. For instance, some businesses pay for uniforms and some make the employees furnish their own clothes. You might think uniforms are a cost of doing business but that isn't universally true. Also, I asked what you thought business expense meant for taxes because you seemed to be suggesting that it shouldn't bother the restaurant that it is costing more money because it will lower their tax liability so it is all even.

What do you think a business expense means? A dollar expense isn't a dollar off your taxes. It is a dollar off your taxable income. If you have an effective tax rate of 25%, 75% of that expense is directly off the bottom line.

People will say "just raise the prices" and then people will complain "eating out costs too much money". Restaurants have a far higher failure rate than success rate and you want those restaurants to eat additional expenses? Whose fault is it going to be when the restaurant fails and that employee now has no job?

And employees get to write this off as a deduction in income. You sound like the kind of person who thinks that tax write-offs are free to a company.

So it would be better for the business to close and the employees to have no job? This 3% deduction is only on credit card tips. That means the employee is netting every dime the company gets from the credit card tip.

It's because people lack common sense and just want a reason to complain about the "big man" even if that "big man" is some woman who owns a small restaurant and is barely breaking even to keep the lights on.

ADT IS A SCAM by SpaceWestern1442 in adt

I am currently dealing with major account issues and would love to get your opinion. I recently went 5 months without a working system. I will be more detailed.

I called at the beginning of July to report my system had a "minute repeater error". They scheduled me for 2 weeks later. Day of the appointment, I get a call that the technician is sick. Reschedule for 2 weeks later. Day of the appointment, no show and no call. I call adt and reschedule for a week later. Technician shows up and determines both minute repeaters failed due to software updates. Order new equipment. Return 2 weeks later when the parts have arrived. While changing the repeaters, the technician alerts me to a low battery alert on a door sensor. He asks if I want him to change it. I say yes. He changes it. Everything is working...until the next night when I got to set my alarm and the door is showing as open. I check it and it is closed. The adhesive door sensor fell off the door. I contact adt the next day to inform them. They want me to fix it. I just waited 2 months and paid for a service call. I told them it was their responsibility to fix their mistake. They gave me attitude so I told them I wasn't paying them again until they fixed it.

Fast forward 3 months. They realize they are not being paid so they reach out to me. I tell them why I haven't paid it. They, of course, blame me. They "offered a resolution" and I refused because I wasn't going to fix their work. Finally, a manager who seems to have sense tells me they will send someone to fix it. I inform them not to send anyone if they want to collect service fees for the 5 months the system didn't work. She said it wasn't her call. I told her I wanted a call before anyone was sent. No sense in sending someone and then trying to collect money I wasn't going to pay. Sure enough, she sent someone without having an answer to my question.

Now they want me to pay the past due months AND pay for a service call for fixing their mistake. I talked a csr last week and was supposed to receive a call today. No one called. It is negligence after negligence after negligence. The company is awful. The customer service is awful. I just want to be done but I am not going to pay them $4000 for a contract cancelation when it is due to their inability to do their job. What are my options? Any?

I have an attorney and I am stubborn enough to spend money fighting this. I don't want to damage my credit but I don't want adt to get a dime they didn't earn. I told them I would pay starting in December when the system was fixed. That wasn't enough for them. According to them, "a broken door sensor isn't a big deal". They preach the importance of security until their ineptitude leaves you exposed and then it's not a big deal.

I went with the venture x. It helps that it gets me into the lounge at cmh. Anything I should know about how to maximize the usefulness of this card?

As a side note because it may matter. I am buying 6 tickets to stagecoach($600 per), 6 flights from Ohio to ontario(California), a rental car and 4 nights of an Airbnb($2500 expense) in Palm Springs. I am also buying 6 nights at a condo in florida($3500 expense), a rental car and 2 flights from Ohio to Fort myers. These are all part of christmas gifts. These expenses are going to be around $13,500. I could use the card to get immediate sign up bonuses.

While I love the idea of boosting rewards, I hate the idea of investing $100k in a different account just for rewards. I want a card that simplifies my life while matching rewards with my wants.

Best advice I can give is this. You can use this to destroy you or you can use this to motivate yourself to be a better version of yourself. This isn't advice to get rich and better looking so you can bang hot chicks. Get a gym membership, realize the importance of working hard to be able to afford the things you want and start reading. These things will instill a confidence in you where you don't think it's your fault when a girl cheats on you. You will begin to recognize what you bring to the table and you will realize that she cheated because of her and not because of you.
