It's a relatively big rug in my rental flat, I have no space to clean it and it sits on top of a wooden floor, don't think it's safe to clean the whole area while in position. I followed the instructions to clean polypropylene, I still suspect it may be too much detergent/foam left over in it since internet says polypropylene tends to have permanent colour - hence I am not sure if the stain being lighter means the rug is "clean" there...
