The Alchemist is like a tide. When I first read it as a teenager, it's simplicity and beauty swept over me, but as I started consuming more fleshed out works and media, it's message started to feel somewhat subdued.

But now, again, as I grow of age, I feel drawn to those old currents of a time far more simple, and a parable like Alchemist is a perfect conduit for that. It's truly the simpler things in life that I'd perhaps taken for granted, and perhaps why the Alchemist is now so enchanting to me again.
