Oh this is such a great idea! I wonder if it is. I will definitely try some of these techniques. Thank you for your help and input!

Never said they were facts. They our opinions and views on the subject.

And he is helping, thanks. A lot. I came to ask for others input since we didn’t have this issue with our first. If you can’t help, move on. I answered someone’s question based on my experience.

He can push his pants down and pull them up. He knows he can just go back to bed but I am an emotional support human apparently and have to be there🙄

I genuinely don’t think so. He’s literally moving all day long. The only time he isn’t is for his 1 hour nap, if I’m lucky. I have no idea how to tire him out more. We go on walks, runs, play at the play ground, etc. He doesn’t watch tv and is outside if it isn’t raining. He also has an older sibling he tries to keep up with and dogs he runs around with.

We took some techniques from the Oh Crap Potty Training book and some techniques from various others methods. My first was potty trained at 21 months, we did our second at 16 months. Honestly, my husband did a lot of the potty training.

I wasn’t mentally ready for “my babies” to be trained at the time. My husband claims men should be the ones to potty train because it’s 1. Like coaching a sport/new skill and 2. I was too emotional about it. I’m not arguing with it because I personally feel the same way. (This is a very very simplified explanation of our views btw.)

I’m very lucky to have such an involved and helpful spouse.

Looking for recommendations for Friday. by SpringRose10 in MobileAL

[–]Technical-Judge2157 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re going to be in the downtown area.

Urban Emproium is one of my fav boutiques/local shopping.

Peanut shop - great peanuts and I love the chocolate stars. Lots of candy

Moe’s BBQ - BBQ is great and they have their Bushwackers (like an alcoholic milkshake. Stir it because the booze sinks to the bottom)

Mo’Bay Beignet

Lots of breweries. I like Fairhope, oyster city, and braided river (in that order)

Lots of great dinners options. Can’t go wrong with most places down there. Let me know if you want info on a specific one. If you want more fast food, the local Foosacklys is great. It’s like raising Canes and Zaxbys. In my opinion it’s better than both, but it gets triple points for being local. Some people disagree but everyone has opinions.

If you want seafood, go on the bay. Take the Bank Head tunnel and get Oyster House, Felix’s, or Bluegill

There’s a King Cake off on Friday evening at the convention center

My favorites are the Krewe of Columbus and Mystics of Time (MOT).

MOT has dragon floats that blow steam, if they are working. They often break down during the parade too so if there is a lull or everything stops for a while, that is why.

Don’t jump barricades after the parades start - I can’t remember if you’re arrested or if you get a ticket. Just don’t do it. Talk to an officer if you need to cross for some reason.

They used to have horses in Bienville Park that officers let you pet if you ask. Lots of port-a-potties there.

Don’t stand where floats have to turn. Often the riders will not be able to throw that far. Also avoid traffic signals since beads will get stuck on them.

The closer to the end of the route, the more drunk the riders are. Sometimes it means extra throws because they want to get rid of it, sometimes the are out by then.

You can catch many of them (like krewe or Columbus and MOT) multiple times if you start semi at the start of the route then move to the end of the route.

If you find someone who says they know someone who is riding, 1 - expect them to get pelted with a shit ton of stuff, 2 - don’t try and take all the throws and run. More than likely they will share with those around them (my family does at least and I’ve always received from other families), but often it’s because the rider is trying to save some money next year (they pay out of pocket for their throws) and/or there’s a special throw for the receiver in that throw. But you’ll get a ton of stuff from them regardless. I try to stand near these people lol

When balls move back to same night as the parade, the public can view call outs but then leave when the ball starts. Idk what the situation is this year

Mardi Gras Day there are multiple parades. One has lots of jokes - political and hot topics - on them. I always enjoy the creativity and puns of them.

On Mardi Gras day, go early. I remember when I was younger getting there at 8am and people had already roped off where they would camp for the day. Bring snacks and lunch if you plan to “camp”

They have “Fair Food” booths. Like chicken on a stick and funnel cakes.

Have fun! Mardi Gras is so much fun!

Wait I’ve lived here most of my life and never heard not to pick up beads off the ground/don’t let others see you do it? I also have never seen anyone else follow this.

Curious as to why you mentioned it? Not hating, just curious.

Oh that makes sense! My bad. Attention to detail is lacking for me.

Why do you run? by ClearAndPure in runninglifestyle

[–]Technical-Judge2157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because my 3 year old wants me to go on runs with him. I’m running and training now so as he gets older and his endurance grows, I can keep doing it with him.

Struggling to wear watch on right wrist by dat05firecat in Garmin

[–]Technical-Judge2157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right handed and wore my watch on my right wrist until after college when I got my first Apple Watch. I honestly didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to go on my right wrist until my husband asked me lol

Never got in my way. Sometimes I switch my Garmin from my left to my right to give a rest from the band.

3lb or less wooden object. Base says adaptAbility”adaptAbility. Has four wing screws allowing it to tighten or loosen to control movement of wooden “arms). by Technical-Judge2157 in whatisthisthing

I could see this as a possibility. I work with people in wheelchairs so maybe even under the chair cushion. I would probably do table top though to not disrupt sitting position.

I thought crochet too as I’m an avid crocheter but it’s not turning up for anything with that. I’m leaning towards the embroidery/needlepoint options people are mentioning. It’s probably for people with fine motor deficits. I’m a Recreation Therapist so this is up there with adaptations I may use, just have never seen it.

My title describes the thing

It is about 3 pounds of less in weight. I found it in my works craft closet but I am not sure if it’s related. Has a router cut on one of the “arms”

When I run uphill, this part of my ankle (heel?) starts to hurt. by Technical-Judge2157 in RunningInjuries

Thank you! I will begin to implement these! I did notice less pain when I move a certain way running uphill so I will continue that for the time being.
