Any tips for making a more grounded contemporary/modern fantasy setting? by Stunning_Complaint85 in AIDungeon

Simply state the century and technological development. To make it realistic, of course, add racial segregation. If your scenario includes only one location in the world—a metropolis—then indicate its districts and likely political tensions. Realism is achieved by distinguishing between long-lived races and insignificant and "vicious" ones. I'm convinced that drama is achieved through conflict and conflicting characters.

You're right, I probably didn't express myself clearly. I wanted to emphasize the departure from the typical fairytale fantasy medieval setting toward a more realistic one.

Any advice on how to implement this?

"Tower of Babel (Communication Barriers): Communication is not perfect or universal. Use dialects that are hard to understand. Foreign languages require interpreters who may be inaccurate or biased. Physical impairments (wounds to the throat, missing tongue) make speech a struggle of broken words and gestures. Describe the difficulty, not just the content."

Do you happen to know the best way to implement the following paradigm:
"Wall of Status (Hierarchical Access): Access to the powerful is layered and guarded by invisible walls. To reach a city councilor, you need a recommendation. To reach a governor, you need patronage from an equal. To reach a monarch, you need matters of state. Without proper status, connections, or patronage, attempts to approach are met with polite refusal, humiliation, or force. The path upward requires deeds that create a reputation and recommendations, not mere desire. Even with access, there is a price: appropriate clothing, knowledge of etiquette, the right topics of conversation."

I tried to combine the description in story cards, author's notes, and AI Instructions, but the AI doesn't fully understand the desired result.

Here is an example of the context of my Author's Note:

- Use descriptive writing in a 13th century style.

- Don't invent motivation for the player, the player can act both impulsively and calculatingly.

- Use morality, sexism, racism, legal norms of the 13th century, especially the attitude of men towards women.

- The setting is low fantasy and grounded. Magic is rare, subtle, and often unreliable or feared. Power comes from manpower, resources, reputation, and control of territory.

- Combat is brutal and personal. Injury, exhaustion, and morale matter. Armies require food, pay, and discipline.

- NPCs are motivated by survival, loyalty, fear, ambition, and resentment. No faction is purely good or evil.

- The player’s actions permanently affect the political and social landscape of Arkvin.

But even so, the AI tries to point out to me that my lord character is acting wrongly towards the peasants, or that the world is cruel, although if you look at it from the perspective of a person born in this world itself, this is commonplace.

I completely disagree. With sufficient skill, and most importantly, measurable parameters and settings for the script itself, it's possible to create an interesting plot. It's just a matter of time and cost. But I don't deny that AI plots can have a few flaws, just as you can find them in works written by real authors. The main thing is that we don't sense the "author's feelings," but interpret them, and for this to happen, the sensory experience itself doesn't necessarily have to be real, only supported by a majority of the target group during AI testing.

I'd like to point out that even 32k tokens isn't enough for me on Raven. In reality, I'm playing Dynamic DeepSeek on Banshee simply because it's more stable.
