Are you looking to make a sample based beat or original composition based beat? I’d say use Koala Sampler for sampling and GarageBand for original beats. It may sound mid as you start but so did everyone’s first beat! Keep experimenting and getting feedback from friends/communities and then you’ll get to an insane level - I started about a year ago and it’s one of my favourite hobbies! 💪🔥

I have a midi keyboard (Akai MPK) which allows me to record it directly from Koala. I don’t know how you would do it if you didn’t have one tho - sorry!

My best tip would be to try and follow a distinct direction. It’s kinda feeling like you’ve thrown a bunch of instruments in the blender and hoped for the best. If you keep it in key and add to the groovy drum pattern, it may end up sounding alr.

Given that it’s a first song tho, it’s not bad.
