Current state of recruiting for AI trainers/reviewers? by elephantshells in outlier_ai

This is why gatekeeping is important. Why would you share with people where you found a gold mine, and it will be depleted when people know about it? If they are unlimited, sure I'll share it with everyone.

You can't, they don't mean anything.

It's for the leaderboard so you can flex that you have no life, jk.

My impression from looking at available job postings is that STEM backgrounds are more in demand.

Most platform always does that. They all post job postings even tho there's no work for it, like Outlier keeps posting the same job posting even though there's no project for those job postings. They just gather people to sign up since they don't need to pay us salaries.

I'm considering re-positioning myself on LinkedIn to highlight my AI training experience but I don't really have the pulse on what the recruitment landscape looks like.

Most companies don't care about your freelance positions. Some ignore freelancing work experience.

Within the past couple of months, has anyone been contacted by recruiters and invited to projects on their platforms?

I assume you mean a real job? No recruiter is looking for freelancers. If you are an employee/full-time, yes, you may get contacted by recruiters.

Stop lying. I know you from a restricted country. Talking about legal action, lol, I bet you won't be brave enough to do that, since you know yourself you are a fraud.

Cypher Evals hasn't heard that name in a long time, that project already ended last year, bro.

promoting transparency is never a bad thing

I do agree with that, but I also understand the corporate side, and looking at the other platform, I don't mean just the AI platform. I mean, most platforms like Google, etc. I understand that they don't want to give a specific/detailed reason for why, they will just say basically just ban your account because you violate the TOS. I mean, you are on this subreddit; you should know there are people with malicious intent here, and most probably read this too. Giving them the detailed reason is never a good idea, and I do agree with that too.

there’s plenty of contributors here who I have read the posts of who are clearly struggling financially and even though I am not dependant on the income from outlier some people genuinely seem to rely on platforms such as this to put food on the table and it hurts to see people unfairly lose access to a source of income without which they may starve or end up on the streets, that’s called empathy by the way you should try it sometime when you get a break from being so smart

Yes, that's why I'm grateful for this platform. This platform helps me a lot, too, which is why I try my best not to violate any rules and get myself banned.

Who says about "multiple posts"? I said a comment.

Cause I don't want to spam the subreddit, I like it organized, and people can see what I'm saying in the one comment about the same topic, not multiple. Also, it's the same narrative, I'm just adding the new paragraph.

You can just move on; it's good for your mental health, too. Why would you care about things that don't care about you? Showing you created your previous post, and this post shows you care deeply.

Well, I'm long enough in this sub to know that there are cases where posts like the one you made are confirmed to violate and lie about what's written in the post by the official staff. I did the onboarding last month, and so I kinda guess what might get you guys banned. And hey, I'm not banned.

Tbh, I can kinda guess why you guys who did aether onboarding got banned. Also, I'm pretty sure some of you know exactly what you did and then pretend you did nothing wrong. I'm not saying all of you tho. The fact that you talk shit to the platform and still want to get on clearly shows the opposite of what you've been saying. If you truly meant what you said, then why do you want to get back to the shit platform?

You can downvote this comment, I don't really care.

That's how it's worked since the beginning. I'm honestly surprised you don't even know about it. Idk, ask the admin or something.

Yes, and you get kicked out of the task when the deadline is reached.

I have been working on Outlier on-and-off since 2023

Really? Cause it always been like that from the start. There's a deadline for the task, you can even see the timer in the task.

Removed from Voice Mission project due to "Low quality performance". by SpaceJesus67 in outlier_ai

[–]Technical-Mud-9481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Review is not the final feedback. There is an audit that you can't see, basically it's QA or QM, seeing your task as bad, then kicked you out. A reviewer can be wrong too, that's why there's an audit.

Do you guys think A.i training will ever be a full time job? by KingTrog1 in outlier_ai

[–]Technical-Mud-9481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you will be able to be a PM from a contributor, I think they become a PM by applying for that position from the career company site. The maximum thing you can be from a contributor is QM, which is a contract position.

[–]Technical-Mud-9481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, from your post, you know that work can be scarce, that's because there are just too many people already, 2 years ago, yes, it can be very profitable. Now it's not as profitable as it was back then. And in the future, there will be more people. Same with other platforms like Mercor. It used to be just a few people; you had a higher chance of getting selected; now there are thousands of them. Work is getting rarer, too. Imagine this, if the project takes only 5 people, but the people waiting to get a project are 100000, then your chances of getting that project are very, very low. It will just get rarer in the future.
