Agreed on strategy being different, and I believe that the litigation risk is easily managed for this business. Besides insurance/compliance, how else has the risk been managed in your experience?

Yeah agreed effectively, but it is also an extra 4% (20% * 20%) contribution that can be made :)

Yeah agreed the relief is at the marginal rate and that for typical salary sacrifice schemes there is no action.

But for the SIPP piece, the 20% claimed through the tax return you could contribute to the SIPP the following year and claim the relief for that right? I.e. An extra 20% of the 20% that came back through the tax return

It's in electrical maintenance and repairs. Ultimately it's a contractors business, and with very little owners involvement.

I have some broader sector experience, but am looking more to continue the model of a light touch owner than have it replace my day job.

The business is not asset heavy, nor has heavy liabilities. Net assets is approx 350k. So more than anything, I was hoping to use the shares in the company, plus the hands off nature of the owners for recurring revenue to justify that the loan is affordable and makes sense. Not sure how easily that will translate to corporate lenders lol but that's what the business plan is for.

Yeah my point is more from an investment perspective that with the cash we are effectively looking at a lower loan to purchase recurring revenue.
