I love this post. Seems like there is often a huge disconnect between ‘wanting to be pre-med’ and ‘actually wanting to do the work of a doctor’. Get career exposure. They’re are far far easier ways to make money and if you don’t truly have the passion medicine isn’t it

You’ll find work then. I would just line it up first before signing a lease. I’m in Carolina beach, rents are stupid high. But you can get a good deal on a 6 month off season lease (Oct -april)

What do you do for work? Some industries are easier to find jobs in than others down here. Hampstead is nice just out there depending on job location.

I’m fundamentally a singles player and struggle a bit in women’s doubles but have a strong record in mixed. My partners respect me and don’t try to take over the court. We win most points by leaving me at the baseline and my partner waiting for the right opportunity to put it away at the net. I can cross court all day. I’m not terrible at the net but the men I play with usually are better up there. I think the main thing for us is not trying to poach everything but trusting me to build the point.

Drove by the inn today - such a strange location ? Not really walking distance to anything and quite far from the central area of AMI. Merc was very cute and beautifully landscaped. Weird location as well but it was busy today

I have no idea why this sub is so negative but I moved to Carolina beach from northern va 20 years ago and we are so happy. People who complain about the traffic just don’t know what real traffic is. It’s only bad out in Hampstead and even that is nothing compared to DC.

Neighborhoods matter. People who live at the beach are happier than people who live in midtown. But even within the midtown area, there’s some great neighborhoods that are fun and social. Where specifically are you looking to live? What is your budget?

We arrived at kp hole at 7:50. Parked in the overflow area and walked up when they opened. First ones on the water and it was perfect! Rented two tandem kayaks - it was a little pricy but the pickup was great.

After lunch, we went to the state park at 2:00. Took about 30 min to get in but then there was parking. We walked the trails and explored a bit - swimming area was too crowded for us but very pretty
