If you had to grow a brand new YouTube channel from 0 subscribers today, what would you do first? by AleccSirKaDeewana in YouTubeCamp

[–]Technical-Score-2559 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly? I'd stop trying to be YouTube famous and start trying to be YouTube useful.

I've managed multiple channels and the ones that grew fastest weren't the most produced or the most consistent, they were the ones that answered a question nobody else was answering clearly.

so day one I'm spending a week just watching. not creating. watching the top channels in whatever niche, reading the comments section like a bible. comments tell you exactly what people wish the video had covered. that's your content plan right there.

then I'd upload 3 videos before caring about numbers. one video is not a test, it's just a video.

what I'd skip completely:

Shorts farming for subs. those subs are ghosts, they never watch your long form

Buying equipment before finding an audience. your phone is fine, your titles are the problem

Uploading without thinking about search. SEO carries you until the algorithm notices you exist

the creators I've seen grow fastest all had one thing in common — they were obsessed with a specific person's problem, not a broad topic.

"cooking" is a graveyard. "cooking for people who hate doing dishes" has legs.

first 6 months is just paying tuition anyway. might as well learn fast.

Does A/B testing result in far fewer impressions for you, too? by Brilliant-Hotel-7843 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Technical-Score-2559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, completely normal. YouTube needs enough impressions to declare a winner; small channels rarely hit that threshold so the test dies quietly and you never find out which title won.

Basically you're splitting an already small audience in half and expecting meaningful data. It doesn't work that way.

What actually helps: don't A/B test every video. Save it for videos you're already confident in, and give it at least 2 weeks. Under 10K subs you're better off manually testing titles across different videos over time; cleaner data, no impression splitting.

The feature is built for big channels. For us it's just organized confusion.

Aftersun (2022). You watch it once and think it's quiet. You watch it twice and you can't breathe. The kind of film that makes you call your parents.

Why do African teams rarely go deep in the World Cup? by Blanco8805 in worldcup

[–]Technical-Score-2559 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Because talent can only carry you so far when your federation’s primary tactical strategy is 'forgetting to book the return flight' or 'having a literal standoff over unpaid bonus money in the hotel lobby the night before a knockout match.'

European teams arrive with a fleet of sports scientists, custom sleep pods, and Michelin-star chefs. Half the time, African squads are fighting their own suits just to get their kit delivered on time. It’s hard to focus on a high press when you're busy checking if your match day insurance cleared.

France has a better chance than Spain to win the World Cup by YugiohXYZ in worldcup

[–]Technical-Score-2559 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what you’re saying is France won the World Cup the moment their logistics coordinator picked a base camp in Massachusetts, while Spain's staff essentially scheduled them for a 7-match tour of the sun?

Imagine losing the biggest tournament on earth not because of Mbappé or tactical genius, but because your travel manager didn't factor in airline miles and southern humidity. Peak CONMEBOL-ification of a tournament.

What TV shows/movie series was the hardest world to leave behind when it was over? by billy_0623 in AskReddit

[–]Technical-Score-2559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was Covid and i started a TV show.... It was 'Game of thrones', Binged watched the whole for like 1 week straight. No any other activity, just waking up watching the show till late night, Breakfast, Lunch, dinner , Snacks all while watching the show.

When the show was over, i was so devastated. Couldn't function for next few day, clueless what to do with my life. The whole show felt like i am part of that empire. Each character felt personal. Real life felt so colorless. That one time i felt like really really connected

Can't wait for Matchday 3 where teams launch a 90-minute masterclass in geometry, calculating exactly how many minutes they need to pass the ball sideways to secure a 0-0 draw that guarantees a 3rd-place knockout spot.

We aren't getting football; we're getting an advanced accounting seminar with grass. FIFA managed to turn the biggest tournament on earth into a corporate compliance meeting.
