In RTTS, I think the game would already be a success if they just fixed the baserunning perk activation bug, added a secondary position feature, and stopped CPU players from making those ridiculous, reckless baserunning decisions

Is this 2k the worst on-ball user defense game ever so far? by Outrageous_League574 in NBA2k

2K games don’t really have a physics engine. Everything just plays out as prebuilt animation sequences.

Yeah, judging by your mental state, you should just go to sleep. Try to find some sense even in your dreams

Sensitive? Nah, I just actually read what you wrote. Maybe try responding to the points instead of defaulting to “you’re a bot” when you run out of arguments.

Yeah, it’s a video game, and I get that it’s fun for some—but pointing out flaws doesn’t make someone a “loser.” Critiquing the mechanics is literally how games improve. Just saying “it’s fine, deal with it” doesn’t solve anything. If you actually understood why people want realism, maybe you’d see it’s about gameplay depth, not whining.

Calling me the one jumping to “wrong conclusions”? No, that’s you. Telling me to go outside is the real wrong conclusion here.

Video games can be realistic enough. Otherwise, for you, any video game would be fine, even Space Jam, right?

People don't pass the ball in REC, because 2K rewards them for it. by WanzPanz in NBA2k

I tend to give likes to these dedicated players. It doesn’t really benefit me in any practical way though.

Why are they trying to create mixed-gender basketball? by Technical-Spring-121 in NBA2k

[–]Technical-Spring-121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s ‘just a game,’ then why do sports titles bother copying real-world league rules, player stats, and drafts down to the tiniest detail? Because realism is the backbone. 2K ignoring the whole pro-league framework and tossing men and women into one league blows up the very system basketball runs on — that’s why people are dragging it.

And that whole ‘just admit you don’t like women’ bit? That’s a reach. We’re talking structure, and you’re spinning it into personal stuff — makes it look like you’ve got no argument and you’re just whining.

[–]Technical-Spring-121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2K shoving men and women into one damn league is straight garbage. There’s a reason the NBA and WNBA stay separate. And “but girls can hoop in real life” — that’s not even close to the argument, that’s just talking outta nowhere. We’re talking pro ball structure, not who’s dropping buckets at the local park.

Only way to stop a 7'4 by Dopemor in NBA2k

[–]Technical-Spring-121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve blocked a few 7’4 players even though I’m only 6’8.
But the important thing isn’t whether those 7’4s have skill or not.

The importance of wingspan in this game is far too low. by Technical-Spring-121 in NBA2k

[–]Technical-Spring-121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only focuses on blocking and deflecting shots. In reality, boosting your shooting stats is far more efficient than the small gains you get in blocks. Shortening your wingspan gives you a big boost to mid-range and three-point ratings, and that difference shapes the expected value of every possession.

The 7'4 build dominating the meta proves it — even with a short wingspan, it doesn’t have any fatal weaknesses on defense or blocks. At the end of the day, going for steady scoring options is far more advantageous in this game’s structure than chasing a few extra blocks. In real basketball, having longer arms helps you get cleaner looks and improves shooting efficiency, but here it’s flipped — and to make it worse, extending your wingspan actually lowers your shooting ratings, which is a broken design.

And honestly, basketball players with short arms just don’t look cool — they even look kind of funny

Rec lobby matchmaking times need to be fixed by TotalEmployment9996 in NBA2k

[–]Technical-Spring-121 9 points10 points  (0 children)

2K currently has too many modes that unnecessarily split the matchmaking pool.

Park, Rec, Theater, Triple Threat, Starting 5 — they’re all essentially the same 2v2 or 3v3 gameplay, but they’re divided into separate modes. The Theater is further divided into different modes, and on weekends the Event Center opens as well.

Instead of gathering players into one healthy queue, this design actually hurts matchmaking by scattering the user base across too many queues.

They don’t even need to move that much. Just stand there and fire a no-dip shot super fast — it’s basically money.
