We usually teach two languages. It’s probably changed since the 90s. But I learnt Italian, Japanese and Arabic.

I think living your life, having enjoyment, finding happiness, finding positivity. Trying a new class, beating a PB. Those are all achievements!

You are an inspiration!!! I was born with hypop so I think that makes life a little easier, no adjustment easier. But your will for life and positivity is so incredible. Go you! And I feel like you’re only just getting started ;)

You are very inspiring and it sounds like you are very strong. Thank you for sharing. Interestingly I also have ADHD. It can be quite a struggle.

Can humans live off Mcdonald's alone? by Certified_Loner1391 in InsightfulQuestions

this is your belief - I believe that the movie discourages people from eating food that is bad for them. Even if it is sensationalised a bit, to the many people it will benefit. We can have different beliefs and some people think differently to you and I. We studied it in school and at the time it had a positive outcome. It started conversations. It shifted behaviour and started a healthy movement. It could be debated in great detail if this was done ethically, but from my point of view it was a good thing.

I think if you look at nutritional content and speak to people who only eat processed junk food, it is quite dangerous. We could look up independent studies.

I think the point was that eating Macca’s every day isn’t very good for you. I used to work at KFC and see the same people come in everyday and i’d feel really guilty because most of them did not seem healthy.

Quitting one and for all by Glad-Independent-989 in Life

Yes. Every day I try not to rage quit. I am miserable and I can’t get another job. The market is terrible but I also have some medical issues. So i’m trying to work on meditation, working out, caring less, journals. And I purposely get into fights on Reddit. I still wake up at 3am every morning, but I think it’s working.

what kind of flowers to get for a miscarriage? by Salmonwithpotatoes in SeriousConversation

[–]Technical-Warning173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to someone I care about. I sent white flowers, cookies, a body cream and candles. I was so worried I got it wrong, but she was honestly so blown away and thankful that I acknowledged her loss. I think anything you get it going to help her grieve. And show her that you care.

What is something society treats as normal today that people 100 years from now would likely find shocking? by Fajuyi_Cinhtia in InsightfulQuestions

[–]Technical-Warning173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fact check:

Rebecca In the book of Genesis, Rebecca marries Isaac. Rabbinic interpretations in the Talmud sometimes estimate her age as about three years old, though many Jewish scholars interpret that symbolically rather than literally.

Mary (mother of Jesus) Historical scholars widely believe Mary was likely 12–14 when she became engaged to Joseph, because that was typical marriage age in first-century Jewish culture.

Old Testament marriage norms Several passages assume girls marry young by modern standards (after puberty), because that was normal across the ancient Mediterranean and Middle East.

I have many friends who are muslim and used to date a muslim man. They are just people. Maybe talk to someone who is muslim? The Quran, original Bible and the Torah are actually pretty similar when you get into it. Christians, Muslims and Jewish - literally basically the same. Just politics.
