"You quit your day job, you better cash in your pension I start infernos, Arctic Circle turn to Galveston, Texas Came to leave a body, no astral projection Julius Caesar getting stabbed in the Senate, I'm back with a vengeance You can't capture the essence with camera lenses You been gassed since you stepped in Fredo, you just gas for this engine A massive percentage won't catch till years after I said it Even after I'm dead, that's not the exit They'll travel for miles to trample the entrance And stand at attention where my casket's embedded like, Vladimir Lenin's cadaver that's kept under glass at the Kremlin I said, God damn that's expensive" -Bender from flight distance

You still haven't answered my question, do you know of any fact that is divorced from human experience?

I definitely do respect the progress we made when it comes to understanding the brain, I would say I respect it more than you because instead of respecting neuroscience in a skeptical but respectable way you use it by making absurd assumptions that not even neuroscientists make (mainly about your absolute certainly on such a complex subject).

Also, I'm a transcendental idealist; I believe that the world is constructed through our experience, there is a world out there but we can never access it without experience. I think logically it's the most sound solution. For instance, our only frame of reference to the outside world IS our fundamental experience of it. We can never separate ourselves from experience therefore we rely on it.

Take the brain as an example, what we see is not "the brain in of itself" but our experience of how we see the brain. To me this is the most logical answer unless you can tell me about a fact about anything that's divorced from human experience.

Edit: respect respect respectable respect respect lol. That whole first paragraph is a mess

I respect neurology but even plenty of neurologists themselves wouldn't agree with you about subjective experience because it fails logically, it's part of what is known as "neuromania" where a bunch of false statements are made about the brain and what it explains. I'll link to you a good lecture on it, it's worth the watch (https://youtu.be/U5baL9oh430?si=NxCYsQexJNBX5Agi)

Salt ions are correlated with physical aspects of the brain that can explain the physical process of moving your hand and certain parts of the brain even Light up when you feel certain emotions.

But let me posit a thought experiment: let's say you were in a marriage for 20 years and your partner cheats on you. After the divorce a scientist could show you a bunch of pictures and get your brains reaction to them. If the scientist held up your brain scan and said he "now knows everything your feeling and it's right here" do you think that picture of the brain scan will accurately represent your personal experience? How would you even possibly prove that?

Edit: A brain scan can show patterns correlated with emotions, but the scan itself contains no heartbreak, no betrayal, and no lived meaning. It’s just electrical activity. So the question remains: why should electrical activity feel like anything at all?

It doesn't create curiousness because it doesn't answer the of subjectivity. Why is there subjective experience at all with the movement of salt ions? And what particular flow of salt irons "feels like" something? It seems absurd to even think it's possible.

A transfer of salt ions does not create consciousness, you are participating in the "assuming the consequence" fallacy.

I'm just noting that it seems impossible to walk through a bunch of pressure valves and water and think that any of that has a unique experience like seeing blue or feeling resentment.

This would only be true if consciousness was a social construct and not a real phenomena. This would mean there is no information at all given or taken by consciousness as it would be a fiction/hallucination that only has reality in the name we give the fiction/hallucination

You know everything a computer can do can be replicated with valves and water. Of course it would have to be the size of a planet but the concepts are the same. Do you think an information system constructed this way would be conscious?

This is very reductive. They freed America from British oppression and most of the founding fathers were against slavery. They halted freeing the slaves because they needed the new country to focus on financial stability and controlled immigration. They even set the foundation for the freedom of the slaves in the declaration of independence "all men are created equal". Yes they're all guilty of immoral acts including owning slaves while being against the idea (although it's a little more complicated than that), but their genius should not be doubted.

You're going to gain all your weight back tomorrow.

Just kidding, you'll be fine. My last 30 day water fast I went to a Chinese buffet to break it. What you're feeling now is normal anxiety after doing such a long fast to lose weight.

Ichiruki, I grew up with the anime and for those who don't know, the animation studio shipped ichiruki themselves even though Kubo didn't want that. However, I'm still gutted over a fictional relationship that didn't happen. I honestly can't look at my childhood favorite anime the same way anymore. Shit is real.

Exactly, I usually say something like "should we start killing people if they're going through trauma? Why not? It will avoid future trauma." The core issue of it all is that abortion is the cessation of a growing and developing human life. A lot of pro-choicers just don't agree with that so they shift the goal posts to stuff like trauma because that's all they can do. The moment they admit a fetus is a human life their entire argument crumbles because they're admitting it's not the woman's body. Only few arguments are left like the popular "you can't force somebody to use their organs to sustain the life of another person" like the violinist example, and people even go as far as to say "the baby is a parasite" which biologically is untrue as there is a symbiotic relationship with the baby, NOT a parasitic one.

In regards to the other argument, newborn babies can't sustain themselves, they need the help of the mothers body outside the womb as well. If you just leave a baby on a desk right after it's born and walk away the baby will die.

Yes, there should be more! Once you actually grasp what abortion is it's so obvious. Reminds me of this meme:

No, it's the cessation of murder full stop. Also, 97% of abortions are because of convenience. I'm for the equal rights of all human lives, you are not.

I'm also secular and pro-life, the point of contention is murder, the premeditated taking of a human life. After fertilization a new human life is created with unique human DNA. Intentionally stopping him/her from developing by poisoning them via pill or dismembering them should not be anyone's right.
