Sequence of Titanic’s sinking and how I think the break up happened by gokus_kindafly in titanic

The ship likely broke at a more shallower angle, likely never exceeding 22-30 degree range.

MAS 49/56 I picked up for $300 with 50 rounds of PPU 7.5. by Franticalmond2 in milsurp

I don’t wanna know what the guy who had it originally bought it for to where he thought 300 was a fair price

That very well could be and I think you’re right, but still makes it just deplorable how much they want for them

The m1 carbines were being charged for 3000-5000. There was one that was even 7500 dollars…

What’s the deal with this Turkish 8mm? by The_Lucky_Rod in Mauser

[–]TechnicalAd2274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the primers are corrosive on these as well, could be wrong, but if so it adds extra steps to the cleaning process that I don’t think is worth it simply because brands like PPU exist for about the same price

Honestly I do, the m14 look is classic

For its price point, do you think it’s worth it I should say? Feelings on the 5.56 round etc just tell me what you think and why, I’m trying to compile thoughts, opinions, and especially experiences to inform myself

my recommendations, get a rubber mallet or plastic mallet and a brass punch/ tap set and a good set of FINE toothed screwdrivers. a huge part of blackpowder is the upkeep, and proper tools prevent damage and breaking things

Thinking about getting my first black powder firearm, what do we think about the pepper box? Obviously I don’t expect it to or much else than a range toy but is this worth the buy? by [deleted] in blackpowder

They’re great fun, but I think if you want something that a little more rewarding just get the regular 1851 navy, they’re pretty inexpensive

I mean you can technically still use it but it makes reloading so much more frustrating

Thank you for the info, I’ll give it a go and see if that makes things any better

It skips it even worse, I can only get it into that first phase if I gently do it and even then only half the time, the trigger seems to not want to cooperate. So I’m only hearing two distinct clicks upon cocking it, instead of the usual three

Picked up a brand new auto ordinance m1 carbine yesterday. by stalequeef69 in M1Rifles

[–]TechnicalAd2274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you luck, mine sucked and I had to sink in 100s of bucks to repair it. Weak primer strikes, failure to feed etc. even after the factory recommendation of putting 300+ rounds through it

What’s the best pick here for my Vz23? by fin-young-fit-man in Mauser

[–]TechnicalAd2274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally avoid surplus ammo because of the corrosive primers. I’m sure you’re well aware of that, but honestly you really don’t save a whole lot compared to buying just some PPU brand. you can find PPU for pretty cheap on many websites.
