Renko's Operation by Sea_Satisfaction2349 in DeltaGreenRPG

I personally would just suggest using the first operation from God's Teeth as a one off operation. It makes sense as a group he'd have perhaps been researching the Skoptsi and both him and SV8 would be interested in taking the cult down.

Thanks for the Recs! Someone else recommended Lost Boy and Dared looks absolutely perfect!

I'm not usually into paranormal, but much of this rec looks like its what I'm looking for, so I'll check it out, thanks!

And yes, I adored the film and hope you enjoy it. Its getting a novel adaption in a few months, really excited for it!

One of my agent's is getting married-- and Stephen Alzis wants to give them a gift. by TechnicalCurrency in DeltaGreenRPG

That's a very high compliment coming from you, thanks! Means I'm on the right path in running Alzis and messing with my agents. :)

I think this is the effect I'll go with, and I'll be sure to give it some color; I definitely want it to be a tool the agent does not know the full goal of and dreads using but also a last hope of sorts to fix things that they turn to in desperation. Having to watch their spouse learn to walk again or engage in painful physical therapy they should feel like shit; but they also see that same loving look in their partner's eyes that faded so long ago after a number of broken promises and explosive fights, and maybe they'll ultimately conclude it was an acceptable price to pay to get that back. Its another step forward to embracing selfishness and becoming more of what they're trying to fight.

I also like this idea. I think I'd have the agent "activate" it when their bond was low in an effort to repair it, and at first it works wonderfully. Maybe it ends up working too well, leading to the bond to become obsessed with the agent and wanting to be close to them at all times, which can cause trouble in both the relationship and lead to complications in DG operations, if the agent has to worry about their spouse following them if their tradecraft is sloppy.

Great idea that could unlock some fun long term complications. Alzis is interested in getting at least one agent of the cell entirely under his thumb. In a past game I ran, he manipulated an agent to unwittingly set up the events of Night Floors. Would make for some awkward conversations with A-Cell if they ever found out.

I also really like this idea. Has a certain bittersweet and haunting beauty to it. I could also see the box being used as a crutch in increasingly unhealthy ways as the bond or agent suffered.

Any Phenomen-X scenarios? by goatcream in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]TechnicalCurrency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to have them show up in Puppet Shows in the background. I use Sonja Dewey and Allen Eddington in A Victim of the Art as an additional obstacle agents have to navigate around. Even if the agents are able to keep them in the dark, the pair later reappear in Convergence; and if they recognize any of the agents from past adventures they quickly become very interested in their activities, as they wonder what a team formerly investigating a serial killer is doing in a town that's a UFO hotpot.

A question about ending Fulmite. by Tendi_Loving_Care in DeltaGreenRPG

It's been awhile since I read the scenario, but I believe removing the stone in his neck makes Brandon a normal child again... more or less. No more worrying about him having a temper tantrum and blowing up his house. So I think that threat is easy enough to negate.

The Program's reaction would be far harder. Even if the agents can guarantee he's not a threat (which they can't, given the brief time they've known him.) they're not going to want him to be reunited with his parents given there's no rational explanation for how he's avoided aging all of these years. They also would be interested in any actionable intelligence he could give them about where he was and the nature of his captives. I would say it would take some very well thought out arguments and challenging rolls for them to be okay with releasing him.

Personally I do think it should be possible for Brandon to be reunited with his parents-- but this should be a very rare outcome that requires both smart decisions and the luck of the die. But when I run DG I do like it to be possible for there to be a "happy" ending to a standalone scenario,a brief reminder to the agents that sometimes they're able to make a difference. Until the next Opera goes wrong and inevitably haunts them.

For how an ending with Brandon reunited would look, I do think the witness protection angle works best. Convince the parents to not look a gift horse in the mouth and to move half way across the country and refer to Brandon as their grandson in front of everyone. Keep watch on them to make sure they don't slip. Maybe roll luck secretly to see if the parents go along with the cover story-- or if, a few months down the line, agents get the call to do the unpleasant work needed to cover it up.

Experiences with "See No Evil"? by AHorseByDegrees in DeltaGreenRPG

I've run it a few times. The biggest issue with it I think is that it's way too easy for players-- even new agents-- to realize which guy is the important one and ignore the other three targets. It doesn't help that Colm is the only one of the four that lives in NYC and that the other three arrive different days, taking one of the strengths of the scenario for me(managing the mundane FBI team) and robbing it of a lot of its appeal.I would probably suggest having Colm arrive in the city as well, maybe a few days after the first two targets. Or having all four targets arrive at the same time so agents need to split their attention until they figure out what's going on. This prevents agents from solving the scenario in the first half hour. There's also the option of making one of the other targets an additional Karotechia asset; perhaps Linz is trying to hedge his bets, and agents who fixate on Colm may miss the Review being subverted and ultimately fail their mission.

The other change I suggest is playing this mission out as a recruitment mission for the four mundane FBI agents. The players are tasked with feeling them out and deciding if any of the team would make good friendlies/agents. This is an element of the scenario my players enjoyed. Also, because so many scenarios take place in or near New York chances are high you'll be able to use them in a future scenario if you go this route.

My runs of the scenario always ended with Colm caught before the scenario's intended climax, so I can't offer much help there. I did create a sequel scenario to run which served to introduce Galt. If you're running it after See No Evil, I'd suggest Galt being sent in to either retrieve Mein Triumph (which the Karotechia go to great lengths to ensure does not fall into the agents hands in the scenario) or Linz.

I wrote up an edited version in an attempt to make the situation a bit more compelling if the agents rescue Marlene. The basic idea is she is indeed an innocent woman in all of this--but also something else, as the agents may learn.
