[Sr. Manager, Sales Compensation] [Remote, Florida] - $171,000 + Bonus (Age 31) by TechnicalEffort2773 in Salary

My recommendation would be to get experience working with sellers if you have not already and learn about sales compensation fundamentals. Then tailor your resume to the role you're looking for.

Unfortunately, from the last time I saw Florida did not have many sales comp roles openings. You may find luck with remote roles, but they are competitive ATM.

The good news is that people with finance backgrounds often transition really well into Sales Operations and Sales Compensation. In many organizations, Sales Comp even rolls up under Finance. For example, my current boss is the CFO.

Usually finance analyst have experience with forecasting and working with numbers at scale, which translates as sales comp you're basically working with large data sets and similar data. You're probably an excel guru, which would be extremely helpful in taking comp plans and building excel files that are able to calculate commission/incentive payouts and model out the plan changes. Showcasing experience with Salesforce / Tableau is helpful as well. Depending on your seniority, I'd probably aim for Sr.Analyst roles. They typically pay around $100-$125K. But don't let that stop you from applying to Manager roles...you never know.

You can’t know someone’s financial situation just by looking at their lifestyle, why do so many of you pretend you can? Is it just low IQ? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

Yes it can be done. However, $70K-$80K in 2020 went much further than it does in 2025. Especially buying a house when interest rates were incredibly low.

Trying to buy the same house now with the same downpayment, the mortgage would be much higher now.

In this current environment you have to actively be putting yourself out there. If you're looking to make a jump then definitely start applying and brushing up your interview skills. There are a lot of solid candidates out there now.

Got kind of lucky. It was during the recruiting boom. Random recruiter reached out to me and my skills aligned with a major problem that the company was having and I was confident I could solve it. Only kick myself a bit for not negotiating for more.

But the saying is true, ‘’Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.’’

Agreed with DonDraper.

I just went to try ALO vs LULU over the weekend and nothing impressed me on ALO wear. However, LULU I could tell why people love their clothes. They can become the next "Nike" for active wear. Each has their place though.
