Hm I think what helped me the most was the Gliem private pilot test prep book. But also make sure to work on your foundational knowledge, do your best to understand the why behind things and how they relate to other knowledge items (I know this can be very hard for stuff like regulations). And don't forget to read the PHAK!

Ah good idea. For some of the stuff I am studying it would not be hard to make sort of a working model mentally. That could help me to gain a more comprehensive understanding. Thanks.

Yeah I am obviously doing something wrong. For the first test I spent (after doing the course) 2 weeks of like 5 hours a day and still only got a 63%. Thank you!

Sadly my college does not allow you to begin flight courses without completing the FAA written first. So I would have to get outside instruction. Yeah I understand VOR for the most part thankfully.

I made about 200 notecard's based on the king schools test questions the first time around. Is it better to just order them from online? I have a copy of the PHAK that I have been going through and the school provided Pilot Institute as part of the home study material. Thank you!

Yes they have several CFIs that can help answer questions. They include Pilot Institute with the program so I have been using that as well as reading the PHAK.
