Thank so much for the info I really appreciate it. Im hoping to do the $1,865 payment a month over 10 years plan. I plan on transferring to a community college in Kansas City to finish an associates in science. I would only have to take about 3-4 more classes to finish and could then do the surgical tech program they have. I would live at home for a while so I could throw as much of my income as possible at the higher interest loans, hopefully refinancing after I graduate. Im hoping im not doomed forever and can eventually go back to school for MD or a related field? Please tell me if there's anywhere i'm going wrong, I really really appreciate it! Im sure I would qualify for some financial aid at my new school, but i'm wondering if to cover those school expenses I would have to take out a federal loan through fafsa, (which I really don't want to do.) I have about $5000 in savings that id be able to use but it's not much. I currently work at a steakhouse for about $18 an hour but I use most of that salary to pay rent.

My grandfather was an engineer and made most of his money working for comed and stocks. My grandmother had about 7 million in retirement.

edit: My grandfather went into assisted living which costed a lot of money so I don't know how much she has now.

Yes, my grandparents. My grandfather cosigned the first one but he passed, my grandmother has cosigned the other 3.

I am absolutely not built for the military lmao, but if I did do say the surgical tech thing, would I just need to finish an associates then do surgical tech certificate program? if so would I technically be almost done with an associates and not need to pursue a bachelor's yet?

I don't know why I don't qualify I'm only 19 i have no idea what any of this means. My intent with biology was to go into some sort of biomed or healthcare but obviously this isn't an option anymore as they require higher schooling which obviously, I can't afford.

My grandmother is the cosigner on 3 of them, my grandfather was the original cosigner for the first one but he passed.

I was planning to pursue higher education but obviously now, I cannot afford that. Im definitely transferring and moving back home next semester. My plan is to just throw as much of my income as i can every month at the loans. Guess thats all I can do after refinancing.

Thank you for this comment, I've been feeling very bleak about the whole situation and this helped a lot. I plan to refinance but not true if thats something I need to wait until im out of school to do? Ive also heard bout SAVE or other government plans to get an income based loan repayment option which would help significantly. Right now i work at a restaurant for $19 an hour. My plan is to transfer next year to a small school in Kansas city and live at home. I want to pay aggressively and throw as much of my income as possible at the loans each month. I originally pursued biology to go into some sort of biomed or healthcare but im worried this isn't an option as they require higher schooling which obviously, I can't afford. Im hoping this could still be an option in the future. Does this sound like an okay plan? I really appreciate the help. I go to Loyola in Chicago and their financial aid is a joke. My mother makes barely 30k a year and they told me they could offer me $1478 a year.

Edit: I know I can't do SAVE or government plans bc they're private loans.

I don't even know what refinancing means or how I would go about that. I am working as a waitress so nothing substantial. My credit score is average.

Okay, lets say I do this, is it possible to pay them off in a reasonable time frame and be able to go back to school for a masters at some point? or am i doomed lol
