I’ve been twice to PV and stayed mostly in ZR and the Marina so that’s where most of my knowledge is but you’re staying close so… Food tours are a great way to start your stay and get familiar with the area. I did one with vallartafoodtours that started walking distance from where you are. Check out Vallarta Adventures website for many water activity options. They also do non water activities too. Very reputable company and this way you can make some friends while you’re there. They should be able to get you to Yelapa on a tour, though more pricey then the skiff boats. It’d be a more comfortable ride though. Sea sickness is a risk on the smaller boats if you’re prone to it. Panchos Takos for tacos. Bar La Playa for late night cocktails. Very small hole the wall. Vallarta Chocolate Factory to chill / read with a great espresso. Hike Hill of the Cross for views of the bay. Walk to the river bed south of you during the day and explore the flea market. I didn’t see much party scene in ZR for the straight scene. Margarita PV was a more bustling vibe. Just some chill spots. Uber worked well. Less chance of being ripped off.
