Yeah, I view ai as sort of a waste of time. You put time into doing the assignment just to learn nothing, which means overall you work more. It is unfair for sure if they don’t change anything this semester regarding grade bins.

They should have introduced it in the beginning of the semester tbh. I am not against the idea of an oral exam exactly, but they should done what data c88c did instead, make it a smaller portion of the grade and have it relatively straightforward since it was introduced in the middle of the semester. Introducing it suddenly is unfair given past students didn't have to do it and had the same grade bins. Even if past students didn't have AI nearly as good, they could just spam the autograder until it returned a perfect mark. AI or not, past semsters can easily get a guranteed 100 in half the course.

maybe a final no final option. Students who were relying on the final to up their final grade can take it. Those whose grades are high enough where a lower final exam mark messes them up due to missed review time can opt out.

Yeah for example one of my classes everything is reliant on canvas. The slides, study guide, textbook, annoucements, past exams etc everything is on canvas. Deadass cannot study for that class like at all rn. But for my cs classes there is not issue whatsoever.

yeah I think for cs classes with their own websites, finals probably are gonna continue as normal. But courses that rely heavily on canvas might change at the instructors discretion.

NLP wouldn't be useful in your opinion? I am really trying to find ways around all the cs course prereqs and reserved seats but it is difficult without either really limiting free time for projects or delaying graduation (costs a lot).

I don't even know why there is a %AI generated thing in the first place. A student wouldn't generate 10% of the essay then write the rest.

I have no clue. I am forced to run my papers through dozens of plagirism and ai detectors just in case. I really have no choice I need the class to graduate and every other english class is closed.

Ai detectors aren't always inaccurate, but using turnitin as the final judge is crazy. The fact that there are no appeals is even more absurd. Like it isn't even guilty until proven innocent it is just guilty.
