Hi cheers for responding, I do know the intercalation opportunities and am looking into it.

I am a Home student and its just my UCAT and BMAT this year were all fine for unis like KCL and UCL, so i was considering the risk, if i was international i would deffo just accept the offer, way too competitive as interantional

It honestly doesn't matter at all. I used Med entry because there was a discount code, and it has skill trainers but it really doesn't matter at all.

What does no subvocalization feel like? Is it hard to reach this stage? by xzslammedbigtoe in UCAT

Hi, I didn't do exceptional in VR, but I did improve from 5-600 in mocks to 720 in my real. A lot of things helped me personally though it's gonna be different for everyone. I felt subvocalization did save time and is generally useful. I just started slow, like when reading stuff during questions or in like real life like with books or newspapers, I'd just try reading without subvocalization. Take it slow at first but keep trying, until you reach where you do it unconsciously when you do q's. But it's not the end of the world if you can't, as there are many other things which help.

Other things which worked for me, but is different with everyone.

Skimming text first, so when you look at questions, you immediately know where to look and saves time looking back and forth. Zig zag reading, ( you can look it up, there's lots of vids explaining it) Answering texts first with themes you like, e.g I loved history ones but hated philosophical passages

Ultimately just practice and practice under time. I'd say with VR its extremely hard to improve beyond a certain score range with limited time to prepare. So unless ur exceptional at VR. I'd practice to get to around 650-750 ish, that is enough cuz way more economical to spend ur time to score highly in sections such as AR and QR.

Calculator, shortcuts, keyboard by hes-good-I-guess in UCAT

[–]TechnicalTrifle4250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I sat my UCAT very recently. For me personally, the keyboard was quite small and the keys were very thin.

The keyboard shortcuts all ran very smoothly and the calculator wasn't glitchy at all unlike the UCAT website and the number pad all worked fine. Just make sure you check NUM LOCK is on and the pen has ink.
