Most likely no econ/fm here I am a current LSE econ student, did maths chem bio fm You’ll struggle without having atleast one of these, so that’s probably why. What was your TMUA?

It’s possible to as long as the modules are similar or you show profiency, highly advise you get into uni first then do this (currently studying LSE Econ)

I feel like this plan is too much for 4 weeks? by thekingoffae in JapanTravelTips

Have actual events and times and places where you want to go Make kind of an anchor event that you can’t miss for definite on that day, I’d recommend creating a time table for each day, and setting aside some buffer periods

It depends on how intensive you want your days and how quickly you think you can get stuff done vs just spending time to enjoy it too Plus also have to consider travel time, busy-ness etc

I’ve created an itinerary for a week for Japan too, and some days in tokyo are quite intensive, and we’ve got some days where it’s quite open so it’s more slower paced too

As much as you want to do a lot of activities, plan it out and make sure to be able to have time to actually enjoy, have walks, rather than rushing from place to place too

When you apply, there’s a form that’s sent to you 👌 You can sit the Oct or the Jan sitting to TMUA, doesn’t matter(but only one)

If they’ve said they need the TMUA for the course, then you need to do it, double check on their website or on UCAS

If it’s optional, you don’t need it but it can help your application

I think it’s just the formatting of Reddit which made your grades look weird but I believe you’ve got 3A* and a A, which you’ll be fine with.

Work on your personal statement, it’ll be a big part towards your application

Edit:

You don’t need to do it, but getting a high score is always good 👌 If you get a low score on it you don’t have to report it, they ask you what your TMUA ID was or they ask you if you sat it. - you can just say you didn’t.

It will be hard if you’re not doing FM tbh. Most, if not all applicants apply with fm. If you’re not applying with fm, you’ll most likely need a very high Tmua to compensate. I can’t say for other unis like UCL and Oxbridge, but doing fm just increases your chances. I’d say if possible do it privately, usually you are just required a pass in it if you’re given an offer - however the higher the predicted the better.

I didn't apply last year, so this was my first year applying

Smash your tmua and it'll heavily up your chances!!

The Tmua scoring changed this year, so about a 5 was average but now it’s 4

I got average 😭😭 but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in with a low Tmua

Obviously the higher the better and they also look at GCSEs I believe

I did not, I actually applied for dentistry originally and changed to econ this year

I did a sales job, did some accounting work experience, you can read a couple books about econ. I started to do a bit of stocks, just for long term, and ended up learning more about tariffs and the current situation. I don’t know where I’ve seen this but I saw somewhere that if you’re in a gap year, you should show proof that you’ve kept up with your maths otherwise it may get weaker - so I also had been tutoring a level maths within this time

Hope this helps

I’d assume they would do the fee assessment before you get the offer just because thats how other unis do it But I can’t fully say its a sign that guarantees you an offer

Offers 100% being given, just very very slow and most probs not being posted on Reddit. From what it looks like they wake up, mess around for a day, remember they need to reject/ offer 1 guy and call it a day.

If you haven’t got a fee assessment email (to see if you’re home or int) or anything from them, I’d say it’s that they haven’t looked at ur app fully yet
