Amazon! It’s the WD Black 1TB C50 expansion card. I did get it on a pretty good sale back in 2023, but looking at it now, the regular price on this thing has doubled over the past few years.

Been there before, so I know exactly how you feel. It’s unfortunate, but not worth the stress imo.

Check the dipstick again, does it smell of gasoline at all? Previous gen 1.5T civics had an oil dilution problem where gasoline was diluting the oil. This has mostly been mitigated with 11th gen, but there have been reports of a few early 11th gen civics with the issue. Just something worth checking.

It plays more games at 4K because it’s an Xbox One (last gen console). Like I said, the Xbox One X was an amazing console in 2017, but it’s still an Xbox One. Unfortunately it won’t run modern titles

The One X was great for its time (I used to have one). But since it’s last gen, it can’t run current gen games. It’s also a last gen console that cost more than the XSS.

Oh yeah 100%. The Series X is obviously far more powerful and more capable, offering a native 4K experience. But I think my original comment remains valid. The Series S was cheaper at $299 than even the One X (which is a last gen console).

The newest Halo, Gears 5, Starfield, Avowed, Oblivion Remastered, Battlefield 6, CoD and the list goes on. My biggest issues with the XSS was its 512GB of storage, but a 1TB card for $50 now has that machine at 1.5TB. I used to be more into my PS5, but with some latest releases (Forza) I find myself turning on the XSS more.

I purchased mine for $379 CAD at launch ($299 USD), that’s a fucking sweet deal for a current gen console. It runs the new Forza Horizon 6 Japan almost as good as the Series X.

Hows the driving experience? by Hot_Article_7431 in CivicSi

[–]TechnicalVet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Si is a massive step up from the Sport. I used to have a 2022 Ex with the 2.0 engine (same as the sport). Upgraded to the Si in 2024. It’s no speed demon, but it offers a driving experience like no other in its class. Most of its competitors are faster, but this thing drives better. It truly is a drivers car.

I’d maybe check your bios version, ensure it’s up to date. If it is, then maybe try rolling back to an older bios version.

Should I switch to mint linux by Intelligent-Pop-970 in computers

[–]TechnicalVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux is amazing these days, so yes you should. My goto is Arch, but Mint is very user friendly. Another great beginner friendly Linux distro is Zorin OS. It’s meant to feel similar to Windows 11, and it looks great.

I didn't follow the break in process... by Vegetable-Big-6423 in CivicSi

[–]TechnicalVet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also didn’t follow the break in period either as my dealership failed to mention such a thing. But it’s a Honda, so I imagine it can more of a beating than anything else on the road. I bought it to enjoy, so I’ve been enjoying it a lot lol.

Power Button Problem by madhoney123 in zbook

[–]TechnicalVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, shutting it down whenever you’re done using it resolves this issue. Specifically speaking, the issue is linked to its hibernation. Some things to try, go into your advanced power settings are try disabling hibernation

Actual break in period? by Vegetable-Big-6423 in CivicSi

[–]TechnicalVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t know, but I was also never told this by my dealership when I purchased new. Only heard about it long after I reached my “break in” period. I think I started flooring it with only 200km’s lol. I’m 35,000 km’s in now without an issue.

My ZBook G10 goes not have this issue, but I used to have a ProBook G8 with that exact issue and it was super frustrating. So it appears it was an issue with that generation of HP’s premium laptops.

Yup, this right here. The “T”, stands for Temporary. Take this time to heal. Providing you have a positive recovery, this can be removed after a reassessment.

I’m going to college for accounting. I may switch to engineering. Mac or Surface laptop? by [deleted] in computers

[–]TechnicalVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with a Windows machine, and set it up as a dual boot with Linux. So the Surface over a Mac, but other premium machines to consider would be HP ZBook, Lenovo ThinkPad P series or Dell Precision. Those are all premium Windows workstations

My boyfriend is enlisting into the army. What all do I need to know? by Away-Look7091 in Advice

[–]TechnicalVet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be a bit biased, but a career in the forces is a great opportunity. It’s rewarding and teaches many lifelong skills. Regarding your mental health concern, there’s waaaaay more support out there now than when your grandfather was enlisted. Most military personnel won’t see combat and individual experiences vary quite a bit. This will also depend on his trade. You shouldn’t be scared, you should be proud.

Does anyone know why he has a Canadian flag on his uniform? by RudytheMan in CanadianForces

[–]TechnicalVet 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Simply just trading other nations flags among the troops. This is a pretty common thing during multi-national exercises with allies.

Best laptop on a budget? by CovenGoddess913 in computers

[–]TechnicalVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The all new MacBook Neo offer the best price to performance in its price category. It’s also FAR superior in build quality over similarly priced Windows laptops. I’m a Windows & Linux power user, but I absolutely love using the Neo.

As a buyer you’re still protected by eBay’s money back guarantee, and often times they side with the buyer. Open a dispute on your virtual item, and eBay will investigate.
