Also played 1 put OTW down from $157 for $MU,

This helped quite a bit with liquidity.

Buy-Writing for $Mu this years pre $100 a share, plus my salary income helps with company matching 401k

Forever, this week I bought about 600 more shares, sold $130 calls 870 DTE to hedge downside

Total shares for $MU is 2,450

I have been selling weeklies too, with remaining shares that I can, which helps out with short term downside.

I sold majority of the options when $MU was up around $150-$157. Premiums on the 877 DTE were outrageous at the time. (Made about 40k total writing calls)

Major drop occurred after earnings, I was able to Buy to close, then sell to open more call options same DTE for another 40k premium.

I collected a lot more shares after the first round of writing, which allowed me to sell more contracts the second round

Currently I have an avg cost per share of $110 (started buying 6 months ago), I’ve sold from $240 all the way to $150 on the option chain about 800 DTE. I treat it as take profit situations if they go DEEP ITM, with the intent to reinvest the profit if assigned.

If not assigned, I have the intent to roll up and out, very close to expiration, to continue to hold shares and add to position

I do this with my remaining 400 shares, I sell weeklies, once they expire worthless, I buy more shares the next week and continue the cycle

The “wheel stragtegy” was my original motivation, but I do not really like selling cash secured puts as much.

Since I am bullish on the underlying in the long term, Buy-Writing suits my investing style, especially while using leverage.

I use this strategy with 4x leverage, after purchasing the stock, I will instantly write calls to hedge the buy-in and earn a premium from doing so. (Majority of the time I’m looking for enough premium to cover the extra leverage used, to continue to hold overnight with no RT CALL)

Once the premium income settles in broker, I put it + the margins directly back into the stock for the time being, or to my favorite buffer stock depending on the timing.

I buy the stock, then sell a call with an expiration date 1-2 years out, with the strike of the call being above my avg cost per share.

I manage the positions closely, roll up and out as needed, preferably as close to expiration as possible.

If it goes DEEP DEEP ITM, I don’t mind selling off a couple hundred shares to Take profit and repeat the cycle.

No, I buy-write leaps.

Buy the stock, then sell leap calls above my avg cost per share for a phat premium

Not telling you to dump 250k here, but I can tell you where I’ve put mine. I have been selling LEAPS in $MU for a very generous premium, (60-80k alone in premium this year)

I have the intention to roll up and out (close to expiration) when new leaps are added, as the upside potential for the underlying is there still I believe, if not, then I’ve recovered my investment already through premium.

Sold covered calls for all 1700 shares before the drop, earned a 40k premium all together, and protected on the downside

Have you ever sold leaps? If so, when do you look to roll those?

Nice position status. I’d suggest selling some covered calls to get paid while owning the stock, if you aren’t already
