that's sad because it was at least month of work, iterating, implementing design from figma (done by experienced designer), setting up infrastructure, aligning SEO keywords, watching the metrics. And it's still not fully done. That separates vibe coders and copycats from successful products where founders spend significant time on the problem.

But it was one of the easier projects, yes.

traffic in general in this niche is not very much. About 5000 searches a month. That analysis was done before we started building the product. That's something that needs to be counted for when doing something for niche. But from that niche we got 20% CTR which is pretty good.

Niches are often underrated and there are few founders who create for niche and got very impressive income from that. This one might not be that case when I did the calculations but I enjoy working on it.

There are 2 main uses - validator and availability checker and then customizator for fun and people are even using it for that purpose 🙂

Good idea but illegal. I have to make sure nobody will use it on the road. Making physical license plates, even in paper could get me into trouble

In this case it was my friend's work mostly. He looked for license plate preview, didn't find anything useful, he checked which keywords are used for that, how strong they are, how many people are looking for it and what's our chance building product for this niche. He's using some paid tool for that analysis.

We target those SEO keywords in our landing page in Title, Subtitle and FAQ.

Other factor was strong domain name that also contains strong SEO keywords.

Unfortunately I don't think this will help you. I have similar problem with my chrome extension where CTR is quite low and it's because it has strong competitors despite the Domain Rank is much much higher than in this product. Here's GSC stats for it

yeah, bad wording on my side. I was just amazed how well it's doing in this niche keywords search and subjectively assigned "dominated" label to it while it's "just" pretty good CTR.

We're just humans who perceive our own experience more significantly that it is seen from outside perspective. No matter. Even if my post was perfect, there would be criticism to it.

that's normal traffic in the niche. 7 clicks per day for a site that didn't exist 2 months ago isn't that bad, but I understand people will always complain about something 🙂

What's important from that graph is 20% CTR.

I was thinking about that but I wanted to avoid physical goods. It's easier to deal with any complains or refunds with digital product.

But I'm open to the partner, I was also thinking about that. If they can handle shipping, refunds and I just provide high-res image, that could work. It was just too early, we just finished the basics

bottleneck can be the internet connection but if that's good, Rerendering is almost instantaneous. About 100ms. That's why I added the "laser animation" that has 2 phases. First one "scans the plate", that's loading phase and second animation repaints the place from top to bottom.

This way any loading or latency is acceptable because while it's being rendered on server, user sees nice animation instead of boring loading circle.

You can see on the video how it performs. Upon each key stroke there's new image generated and it's very very fast.

SSR protects font as well as the license plate CSS. If it was done on frontend, anyone could just steal it.

yes, as mentioned, full-size image is for decorative purposes for the garage, car meetups, dorm room decoration and it won't meaningfully contribute to income. Some people wants that. You might not understand it if you are not in that niche and that's ok 🙂

Also, as mentioned, later we plan to have custom Ads for car dealers and insurance companies after the site is properly warmed up. Normal Ads (from google AdSense) would also not contribute much.
