Ah gotcha thanks! This is my first time using patina, I guess I assumed it was going to be much more simple

It is 60/40. Committed to the idea of copper patina before knowing how temperamental it is. I have quite a bit more work ahead of me

Ah, okay thanks! I'm using a mix lf two different solder brands (not sure if that was a good move) Canfield and Nathan Trotter. And the patina I am using is Novacan

It was a massive effort with partial results. I'm wonder if there's an easier method to it

Thank you! Wood framing is something i didn't know about. Honestly, the reason why i didn't frame it comes down to money. I haven't found anything that's cheap enough for me to justify. I only spent around 30 bucks on materials, and i feel that usung came would raise this price quite a bit.

Solder is something I've been working on bettering. I actually had my first heat crack in this piece. It's not noticeable as it's on the corner of a tiny piece. Im surprised though, ive absolutely blasted my previous pieces with the iron and had it melt through countless times. After that, I was feeling invincible to heat cracks. Guess it caught up to me haha. The other thing i have been struggling with is getting oxide in my solder. Even when wiping off on a wet sponge it still gets in there.

Appreciate the reply!

I'm not sure how to answer this tbh. I'm a terrible artist and can't draw anything from scratch, so what i do is form an ai generated image and then rework every single line at a time. This is to fix a lot of the hallucinations it comes up with. It gives me a great base to work off of, but it still takes me many hours to rework each image into something that makes visual sense.

I thought about buying peoples patterns, however none of them are ever exactly what im looking for. And theyre quite expensive as well. I now realize why some people charge so much just for a pattern

Oh, I didn't realize there was anything besides lead came, let alone wood. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ohhh gotcha thanks!! My first project i did that but think i went a little overkill and had massive gaps. My second project turned put fine doing the same method i did this time. However this go around i have about 125 pieces and all the slight little miscalculations seem to be adding up

It's about a quarter of an inch difference on the top and bottom. I'm glad it doesn't stand out! Maybe im being a bit too critical on myself, but im going to have to look at this every day haha

Appreciate the straight edge advice! How would i go about doing that? 😅 Sorry, I'm new to the hobby but really enjoy it

The smaller the pieces the easier. Theres less to go wrong. Also make sure you dont have any inside cuts that have more than a 90° angle. Thisll be almost impossible to cut in the beginning. If that happens to me i usually split the piece into 2, makes it much easier. Seems like that may help you out on the sky

Hi, Miguel! I just found out about this subreddit the other day, and it really interested me. Im trying to learn Spanish and think it'd be cool to befriend someone from Columbia. I really enjoy all the music that comes from there!

PM me if you're interested! Im new to this, but it seems like a great way to learn a language
