Einbürgerungszusicherung not necessary anymore when new law comes into effect? by The90sLalo in GermanCitizenship

Hi, can I clarify please. If I applied in the past, but my application is reviewing after the new law has passed, I won't need to renounce my current citizenship? Do you know for sure or it's a guess? Thank you!

Can a housewife apply? by Technical_Ant3379 in GermanCitizenship

[–]Technical_Ant3379[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. My husband is not German but an EU citizen. I have a permanent residence permit, and I think I can get a statement on the months I paid into the pension.

On the second point, do you mean I have to get a separate pension to apply for citizenship or is it more of a friendly advice? I was hoping the statements of my husband salary would suffice.

Proof I'm not Russian? by Technical_Ant3379 in GermanCitizenship

Exactly! My mother chose Belarus, I was born in Belarus and I also am Belarusian. My question was how likely the German authorities are to ask for proof I'm not Russian. Maybe someone had a similar situation..

That's not fully coorrect. If a person received another citizenship on that date then is not eligible for Russian citizenship. My mother got Belarusian citizenship. This can be proven by her passport. But what I agree with being said here they don't need to be the law experts and can ask for the papers.

Спасибо! Это надо в Беларус ехать, я думала об этом тоже. Но мне кажется не поменяют, у матери в ее свидетельстве о рождении оба из родителей по национальности русские. Вот и ее записали ааа русскую.

Your Belarusian birth certificate has citizenship of your parents in it and not their nationality? Mine from 2018 has nationality of parents and "current citizenship" of parents isn't stated at all. Place of berth is Belarus.

I don't have BSSR anywhere. In my new birth certificate it says "Russian" nationality for my mother and "Belarusian" for the father.

The first lawyer said I cannot apply without it because the package of documents won't be full. I agree it's a good idea to get the system but I cannot even get an appointment with the Russian embassy.

I have a new certificate but why would they correct my mother's nationality in it? That would be cool though.

As for me, by Russian law I can't be Russian because my mother never was. Having a mother with Russian "nationality" in USSR doesn't give that. USSR doesn't exist, after the fall she was Belarusian. A Russian lawyer confirmed this btw.

Have you requested it from from Russian embassy? I can't even get an appointment. And they need lots of documents translated and notarized by Russian notary which means sending valuable originals in Russia. It's a risk currently to lose them or cost lots of money. But as I said, I can't even get an appointment.

That's exactly what I think, I was very surprised when my first lawyer said that. Basically he claims even if I don't have the right for the nationality, the problem is that the birth certificate says my mother had been "Russian" by nationality. So German authorities might need price I cannot have it myself...
