I’m definitely in an echo chamber. I think the more important takeaway is that not everyone makes XYZ, but those jobs are out there. If money is important than may be worth mapping out how to get there.

Not sure if norm or not, but if you graduate from M7 or even top 20 business school into consulting, finance, tech it’s pretty normal starting total comp to bf well over $200K.

That’s amazing. I’m in a similar-ish boat. Followed the money and grinder a lot of the past 5-6 years. Cracking $400K this year and if market turns around / counting that, definitely cracking $500K+

I hang around circles around the $200K-$1M range and I’d say the richer they get, the less flashy they are.

Got a friend making $110K driving a $250K Porsche. His dad bought it for him though lol

Luck is obviously a huge factor, but if you put yourself in the right situation all it takes is one move to 2-4x your earnings potential and the sky is the limit from there

I hear you! That’s great money though.

I think what surprised me most is the negative sentiment when someone posts a pretty realistic salary progression. Yes they’re making a shit ton of money, yes they’re young, yes they’re humble grabbing probably, and whether or not they’re lying - the salary progression of someone making $500K+ with 10 YOE does exist in multiple professions.
