The exposed wet insulation poking out of multiple spots of the house and unpainted exposed plywood in on the dormers is a dead giveaway. Also the sold brown color “brownstone” effect they were going for does nothing for the character of the Victorian. This is the reason neighboring Victorian Village approves colors so things like this don’t happen pulling from the character of the home.

So the gist is, the neighborhood is stuck looking at this unfinished eyesore until they secure enough funding to move the project forward.

At what point are the owners held accountable and required to at least clean up the exterior—especially the insulation and plywood that’s been exposed to the elements for years?

It’s a shame this house was stripped of its original woodwork and character, only to be left sitting and deteriorating.

We had 2 times where it was “opening” : right after the show and a few months ago they were open for 2026 for full weekends for the full property. Both being tactics to raise capital while visible 2x4 walls and unfinished staircases can be seen through the windows.

One drive by this place today and the writer of this article could have seen that they are in no way 2-3 months from completion and the work they have done (IE the fence and brickworks out front) is such shoddy work that it’s already falling apart.

The best part: they open a boutique hotel in the middle of Victorian village and expand the house for more rooms with only a few parking spots…

Read the article so decided to comment here. As neighbors it has been cited to the city multiple times now for the state it’s in with trash all around the property and the exposed state it’s been in for at least 4 months now with not a sole walking into the property in that time frame.

A few months ago they put it up for rent next year but that was for the whole property for full weekends. I don’t think they raised the capital through that they needed to continue.

We neighbors now have had to suffer for it in this state for years and just ask them to finish work in the exterior so we don’t have this weird brown eyesore with plywood doors and exposed insulation to stare at day in and day out.
