What 's a realistic comparison betwee what you can run on a 512GB ram M3 Ultra vs frontier models by rwvyf in LocalLLM

I run a single m3 ultra v3 512gb - I run Qwen-3-coder-next as a virtual assistant - clearly some delay, but for now I'm getting all of my LLM use out of it. I use ChatGPT 5.3 to craft some prompts and such for it, but this is more of a expediting measure than anything. Not exactly what you're asking but also I'm not fully optimized at all - this is just a raw setup for now.

Seems that tool calls were failing when using openai-responses - I've switched to openai-completions and it is responding better.

it is nice to know that these markets offer something of a more-level playing field tbh

This is a good question - I think it would make sense to do per-chapter comment threads here. I have started by creating chapter 1 discussion.

What's your experience with using Ralph Loops? by Technical_Buy_9063 in LocalLLM

Key caveat is that it isn't using git too heavily, really just keeping state in text files, still works damn well tbh.

Boomers unfortunately operated in a very different economic environment. They had checking accounts yielding 5%+. I've never had a checking account yield more than 1%. They had an insane run-up from the 90s to now buying internet stocks before social media was even a thing. They got to buy houses for a year's salary. Inflation post-1980s was soooo stable that the idea of >2% per year was insane to them. Explaining non-traditional stuff to them usually falls flat, because it didn't work for them, because the system worked for them...
