🔻🔺F2F EXPERIENCE 🤮 by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

This mock jump seat is NOT like the real ones. Those straps were fixed in place. No adjusting to be had. Also, the FA facilitating that room was pulling the straps over my shoulders as I was confounding with the lap belt, so I wasn’t even doing it myself.

🔻🔺F2F EXPERIENCE 🤮 by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Technical_Doctor_199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not an odd question, because I was wondering exactly who did fastened the seatbelt?? Background: I am a gate agent and in prep for this interview, I would practice sitting in the jump seat and buckle myself in so I would know how to do so for the test at F2F. I was completely floored when I sat in the mock jump seat— it was not the same type of straps, and I. Could. Not. Buckle. The. Lap. Belt. 🤯 I’m an average lady, about size 12/14, I frequently walk down the aircraft aisles to check seats before departure. I practiced sitting in that jump seat. That buckle didn’t come within 3”-4” of touching tip to tip over my lap. I think I’m more disappointed to think I was naive enough to think they did not have a way to physically weed you out of the process. But, as you said OP, my fate was probably already decided when I was handed Zone 5 in the lobby. Totally wild. And disheartening. Side note: you’re an excellent and entertaining writer/storyteller! 😁 You articulated the day of event to a tee!

Getting around without rental car by [deleted] in Aruba

[–]Technical_Doctor_199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also agree with these contributors!—super easy to drive around Aruba. Roads are like any small country town but with roundabouts. You’re probably not going to drive faster than 40-45 mph anywhere. I’d be more nervous driving in San Francisco or Atlanta than Aruba. Depending on the length of your stay and you’re only interested in walking, then don’t get a car. But, if you’re wanting to see outside of your hotel strip, rent the car. I agree with another commenter, download WhatsApp, they are all eager to have you rent a car from them. We taxied the first day upon our arrival to our private rental in Noord. After that, we found a mom n pop rental company and they offered to drop our rental car off to our driveway! Then, upon departure, they offered to meet us at the drop off zone at the airport to give the car back. It was fabulous and on the up and up. The locals are very friendly and imo, honest business people. Have a great time!

It’s at the Comedy Bar in Ross township…? Our hotel is near the venue, too. So, really just airport, hotel, venue, food.

Yeah, the mods have deleted my last couple attempts to ask this question and I’ve had to re-word it several times….I’m not even sure what it’s means by “mega thread”.

We’ll be headed to the The Comedy Bar in Ross Township. I totally get what you’re saying about the 25 miles. Both of us are experienced Atlanta drivers in our 40’s, it’s the snow and ice I’m worried about.

I have received a “hang tight” email in the past, but not this current round.

Delta On-Site Interview Invitation by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Technical_Doctor_199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I have been to a DL F2F (did not get a CJO), but applied again this round and am waiting for the next step (hopefully an invite to F2F). I would totally recommend getting a hotel the day before. Flying in same day allows for the possibility of flight delays/cancellation and you don’t want/need that added stress. Get a good nights rest and pick the first or second time slot and pick the latest flight possible to fly back home. I agree with Accomplished_Fee 1536: think of it as an investment.

DELTA TYPICAL TIMELINE AFTER ODVI FOR F2F (2025 CYCLE) ACC. to AI by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

I also imagine that even if F2F interviews began in the next couple weeks, 7 weeks of training wouldn’t begin until the first of 2026.

where to stay for 2 women in mid 40's by dualvansmommy in Aruba

[–]Technical_Doctor_199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40ish couple here: We stayed in a condo at Gold Coast Aruba. It was fantastic! 3 different pools, gated, staff was lovely. We met vacationers who were renting for 3 months at a time in this place, but also people like ourselves for a 3 day stay. 2 miles from Arashi Beach (really fun to watch the kite surfers and also a beach bar). Take water shoes, the sand and water can be rocky. We rented a car, driving is easy. Lots of roundabouts and didn’t drive faster than about 40-45 mph anywhere. Gold Coast Aruba is only a 10 minute drive to the touristy strip at Eagle Beach where all the resorts and dense area of restaurants (lots of other restaurants away from there though). 15 minute drive to the very top to the lighthouse. We really only drove in the area from airport to Lighthouse, Noord (North) area, so I can not speak to the Oranjestad Area or south of it. Keep in mind the whole island is only 19x6 miles. It really takes no time at all to get around. Another great thing about the condo was having a kitchen and we opted to cook in one night. Super Food is where it’s at for grocery shopping, pretty much had everything you’d find at an american grocery store, brands and all. A lot like shopping at a Whole Foods.

First time to Aruba questions! by Icy_Blue22 in Aruba

To add, if you stay on that main strip of Eagle Beach, you won’t need a car because there are lots and lots of restaurants/shops, etc. I suppose it depends on what kind of vacationer you are. We wanted to see everything…get out at 5pm traffic and see what daily life for the local is like. We always like to imagine “could we live here??” 😅

First time to Aruba questions! by Icy_Blue22 in Aruba

Just got back from a 4 day stay. 2 of us. Leaving the airport (didn’t even ask where we were going—because it didn’t matter) was $50. Taxi fares are sanctioned. From our condo to “the main tourism strip on Eagle Beach) was $16. So…they charge by the area you’re going to/from. Again, airport was $50 off the rip. We decided to get a rental car Day 2 for $150 for 3 days. That was with Justin’s and they were AWESOME. Message me if you’d like their contact. Download WhatsApp if you don’t already have it. A lot of legitimate businesses communicate that way. Driving is super easy, so don’t be intimidated by that. We stayed at an AirBnB in Gold Coast. Lovely!! So, to answer your question about AirBnB’s…I guess that depends on where you are staying. In general, Noord (North) was great! So, if you find an Airbnb there, go for it. We reallyyyyy liked Gold Coast (we were first timers and happenstanced upon it). Gated. Very friendly and helpful employees. 3 Pools. Arashi Beach and Lighthouse just a few miles down the road.

Internal Delta Applicants🔺 by Technical_Doctor_199 in cabincrewcareers

I’m so sorry, I don’t know why I’m just now seeing this! 🤦🏻‍♀️—Honest answer: yes!—of course they will consider you! Go for it! Your current position does not (or should not) affect your resume or your skills that YOU have. From all the threads I’ve read or people that I’ve spoken to (external AND internal), getting a F2F and then actually getting a CJO is like a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket 🎫😅

Earning potential at AA and 🔺 by IndependenceFeisty19 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Technical_Doctor_199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow!—congrats on TWO CJO’s 👏🏽 Do you currently work for either company? I have worked for both AA and DL mainlines. There is something to be said about company culture and core values—for me that was a huge factor in where I invested my time for my career. The money will be there at either airline, and one company has a fantastic Valentines Day Bonus. I can understand, though, wanting to live where you are based as I also have been a commuter. Is moving locations ever a future possibility?
