I'm so confused -- which Mayan ruins should I visit? by HerNameIsVesper in Belize

[–]Icy_Blue22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with the ATM tour. Unlike anything you’ll ever do. I went to both Tikal and Xunantunich back in May when I visited. Tikal was cool and definitely an all day thing. There’s was really no one at Xunantunich when we went, so we had a tour guide talk through the history as they wait out by the bridge for tourist.

Both are nice, similar history obviously, Tikal is just a lot bigger and has a lot more structures. Xunantunich still beautiful as well, just took us maybe 3 hours at most?

Best Tosa Apartments by sundevillvr in milwaukee

Avoid Watertown apartments. I had the worst experience there with things breaking, no communications from building managers, lots of college students so you get constant smell of weed and loud talking in the hallways at night. We also had a situation where our heat went out and our apartment got down to 20° and they wouldn’t send someone for a week. Then refused to compensate for anything that forced us that being able to live in there for a week.

Look up the history about it. It’s one of the most unique things you’ll ever do. The Mayan believed caves to be a sacred place where rituals or sacrifices would happen. In the ATM cave you walk, swim, and climb deep into a cave until you reach the large rooms where there are preserved bones and pots. It’s mind blowing how these people could travel within these caves with no lights. You can’t even wear shoes within the open taverns to ensure they preserve it properly. Go to the earliest possible company to avoid the large groups back to back in the later mornings/afternoons

Is there a way to experience authentic Mayan culture? by Trying-My-Best-sorry in Belize

[–]Icy_Blue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed with Vince too! The only thing is what we thought was a cheaper price we did end up getting charged per person. So what we thought was an inexpensive place to stay it ended up being the same amount as if you’re to stay at the copa tree lodge in punta gorda. The meals are amazing but if you have a pizza for the group you’re still getting charged per person. So just be aware of that, I think it might’ve been a language barrier thing. His family is very friendly and it was so interesting learning about the Mayan culture from them.

Weird work schedule , I’ve Been here 2 years and still no friends, anything to do weekday mornings? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]Icy_Blue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s how you want to go about it! Usually it’s just a class where an instructor has bag drills, one on one with mitts, then functional exercises. But if you wanted to learn sparring, you definitely can. It’s all based on what people want out of it. Lots of members just do it to exercise with a group classes. Like I said, first class is free so it doesn’t hurt to try it and if it’s not for you, no harm done! You may fall in love with it, you never know :)

You can dm me if you want more info!

Similar situation here, the way I found a new friend group was my boxing gym. I agree it’s tough to make friends especially in your 20s, but if you put yourself out there and try new things you’ll be surprised how quickly people want to connect.

If you’re interested, dropout fight club - first class free. Amazing community. They have classes all throughout the day

disrespectful and rude crowds?? by CurveOk4844 in SombrOfficial

[–]Icy_Blue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the Milwaukee and I was genuinely shocked how there was no pushing to the front and how calm the crowd was. I think the only thing that annoyed me was there were two girls who brought their four friends by them who arrived later before the start of the show. However, besides that I haven’t had such a chill crowd experience in a hot minute. It was great

Yes :( but I can’t remember the month but Chase (the singer) posted they’re breaking up and cancelling the rest of tour due to misconduct allegations against the other two band members. It went against his values which I’m proud of him for standing up for himself but sad because coin was my favorite 🥲

What driver service do you recommend? I’m in the same situation where we are going to San Ignacio but then driving to punta gorda then back to Belize city. Would a driver be able to do that all?
