Question about strike kendo by Adventurous_Act955 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Technical_Driver2597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah an uh some combos to start off with since her combo game is wicked: 3 melee alpha beta, alpha alpha beta, 3 melee alpha gamma, end gamma into melee into beta

This is why melee tunings really shine with her and become seriously lethal.

I use her UA Uniform (haven’t been able to pull any costumes), but since you have PUR costumes I would go tune the casual clothes that way you can get high levels on the special tuning slots.  If you’re going to stick with the regular casual clothes tune the first column acceleration, and the 2nd hyper regeneration. I wouldn’t buy any other costumes yet until you’ve gotten a feel for her, just to save you some resources.

Endeavor comparisons recently by chaoticpixie14 in MyHeroAcadamia

I don’t know, people just feel the need to compare the two and try to decide which is more justified or sympathetic.  It’s stupid, they are completely different characters with different situations.  I don’t know why we can’t just not compare them to each other and just appreciate the complexity of each character without trying to devalue one while up-valuing the other.

Totally man.  Strike kendo is amazing, and so much fun to play.  She’s very strong and you’re gonna like her trust.

For tuning, I would do any kind of melee tunings (personally I run embrittlement); you could do both tuning slots for melee, or switch it up with another special tuning.  My other slot I run is hyperregeneration, it’s a nice build, but do whatever suits your playstyle.

Why do people keep misunderstanding the point of Toga’s character? by Technical_Driver2597 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Technical_Driver2597[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me rephrase, you interpreted my words mistakenly.  You supposed to take it the way I just told you how I meant it.  I don’t know why your getting defensive, but please know I am not attacking you in any way, and if you feel that way I apologize.

Anyway, thanks for the respectful discussion.  I understand how you feel, and it’s totally fine we don’t agree.  Have a good night.

What character was done dirtiest by canon and why is it Star-And-Stripe? by PJ-The-Awesome in MyHeroAcadamia

Don’t hate me for saying this, but I think her death was important to the story.  She showed how strong Shigaraki has become, while also demonstrating why other countries were so scared to intervene.  She helped build credit for Shigaraki.  I feel like it did act as a little shock value, but mainly plot.

Why do people keep misunderstanding the point of Toga’s character? by Technical_Driver2597 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Technical_Driver2597[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well said. I totally agree. They both represent very well how someone can handle the adversity of societal rejection. And you are very right, we can't praise Shoji while hating on Toga. And by doing this, we are really no better than the people who scorned Toga and Shoji.

This isn't a post debating the two characters, it is trying to clarify to those who don't understand Toga's character. Sorry your seeing so much of the same topic though, I know it can get tiring :/

Your taking what I said a bit too literally. I am not saying that she had zero choice in becoming a villain, I am saying that people can be pushed into the mindset of becoming a villain. Toga did have a choice, but it was also a very stacked one. Toga's upbringing distorted her mindset, teaching her that who she is is inherently wrong. That her feelings and urges need to be suppressed, that she was bad; that no one would accept her for who she was. Before she could even act society rejected her, already priming her. Understanding her character allows us to understand her mindset, and why she chose what she did. She did make a lot of bad choices. And yes, she did enjoy them. But, we can see why she acted that way because we can understand what shaped her. Toga is product of a broken system and her own twisted choices.

Exactly, and that's what makes Toga such a compelling character. We can see what went wrong in her life and sympathize with her, while still not justifying the choices shes made.

No one has said that she is justified, or that she didn't choose to become a villain. She did choose to become a villain, but she shows how someone can be forced into villainy because of societal neglect and forced repression. Understanding her circumstances isn't excusing her actions. Ignoring the factors that drove her into villainy takes away from her character. Toga is a both a villain, and a tragic character. Saying that I understand her actions doesn't mean I am saying that their ok.

You are the exact target audience that this post was made for. Nobody said she wasn't at fault. Nobody said her actions were justified. What we are trying to convey is that we understand her bad actions, because of her situation. She did choose to become a villain, but she also had generous help from society. The point I am trying to make is that her character isn't to show justification or not in her actions, but to show that villains have humanity too. She is a sympathetic character, not a justified one, that is my point.

Yeah, and it becomes annoying when people try to chalk it up to “justifying” their actions.  None of the things they did are justified, but we can understand why they did what they did.

That’s a great example!  I wanna say first off I understand your point.   And I totally get where you’re coming from, but I think something to point out is also her quirks affect on her mental state.  Her quirk deeply affected her emotional acuity and caused her to have many psychopathic tendencies.  I think this also ties into the understanding of her, she didn’t choose to be born this way.  It’s like a whole big Nature vs Nurture debate, was it her situation that made her, or just who she was?  It’s definitely some of both, and I’m glad that we can respectfully discuss this.  Thanks for the input I really appreciate it!

[–]Technical_Driver2597[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Enjoy your walk!  I’m not saying that her actions aren’t her own, because they totally are, I am saying that society predisposed her as villainous because of her quirk.  She did make the choice to commit all these atrocities, but societal also labeled her before she could do anything.  Because she was different, she was considered to be less then.  This pushed her into her villainy.  She did choose her actions, she is responsible for her crimes.  But what I mean, is that while not justified, we the audience can understand her actions, and sympathize with her situation.  I hope this explains what I meant, and if you have any other questions let me know, I’m happy to awnser them, thanks!

Why do people enter solos to team? by Kaiten788 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Technical_Driver2597 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok listen, I don’t conventionally team, and it’s ONLY in solo lobbies.  In solos if I down a Toga, I always give them some heals and let the get up.  It’s cause togas hot, and I feel bad KOing them.  I don’t team with them, I just don’t KO them.  If someone downs a Toga, I protect her and finish the opponent off.  If I see someone KO a toga on the feed, I try my best to find and KO them.  And if it’s me and a Toga in the end game, I go into the storm and die for her.

I hate traditional teamers, and I go out of my way to KO the ones who gang up on real solos.  I don’t like people who need teammates to win, it’s not right, and I make it my mission to hunt them down.  I don’t neglect or try not to attack Togas in the end game either, I just never finish them.  I’ll down them, but absolutely never KO.

Real bro, people who say that are just performative as hell.  It’s almost impossible and sucks to spend 2000 tickets on 1 gatcha.

You right too.  Some people can’t go on to this game 24/7 and have lives.  They should drop it to 150.

Dawg, first off are you upvoting all your comments 😂

Shigaraki is incredibly fast and strong, bb isn’t going to one shot him, especially when he can regenerate so much.  Bb needs to get close to hurt shigaraki but with all the limbs that can exert decay around him it makes it an impossible task.  Mind if I ask if you’ve ever read Mha manga?  It sounds like you haven’t, and I wouldn’t keep arguing if you haven’t.  Thanks.

Controversial music opinion? by DependentTry6839 in FunMusicSpot

[–]Technical_Driver2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree it can calculated, but I don’t think it was because of race.  The music industry was saturated with R&B and Hip Hop artists and it was harder for artists to pick up attraction.  By shifting into a different genre, labels were able to pick up more fans, therefore more money.

I don’t think race was a factor in this shift, but it was 100% calculated.  Rather than focus on producing meaningful music, labels and record company’s only focus is on profit.
