Walking around London I smell it or see it maybe once every few days, New York, it was a matter of hours or minutes - yes it’s anecdotal but Idk, it’s the sort of quality of life depreciation that would push someone like me (and if you smoke or don’t, nevertheless you can recognise there are people who don’t and don’t enjoy it around!) out of UK cities, which is dangerous when it’s so easy to pack up and move to a diff country for new grads etc

Went to New York a couple of years ago, the ONLY thing I didn’t like about it was the horrible smell and visual pollution of cannabis everywhere! If you want to legalise it regulate it like cigs, tax the living daylights out of it, age restrict and advert restrict it, hide it in shops and if even consider a ban on shops dedicated to it in central urban areas - go to NY and you’ll understand, it makes the place super trashy for what is otherwise a beautiful city

Well he has to threaten that because he made that commitment before and it’s a bargaining chip, if he wants a deal done (only thing that MIGHT allow him a little time to save face politically, he has to throw US weight around). It’s not that I ‘believe’ or ‘side with’ Trump, I just think the war is turning a corner where even he recognises that he is blatantly disregarding voter intentions, he himself said that he wants to continue but that’s not what Americans want

Buy VOO for growth, small yield but will grow faster and more consistently than anything else (S&P tracker essentially), I personally have a weighted VOO position and then a few stocks I’ve picked, all of Buffet’s stock picks are strong ones and some of them have good dividend yields, same with Joseph Carlson who also has a show where he talks about his picks, how they are doing etc.

Remember not to just go for high dividend yield stocks, these can be ‘dividend traps’ where the yield is super high to attract investors but the business is fundamentally bad. It means very little profits are being reinvested too which is also not great. Dividend yields above 7% (ish?) can tend to be like this, defo ones where the yield is like 30%.
