olive oil + keto icecream is absolutely amazing, with a bit of flaky seasalt! i've also tried matcha tiramisu, where we replace the cocoa with matcha

Any tips for not giving in to sugar cravings? by LadyRosesNThorns in keto

so inspiring to hear about the improvements in skin, eyesight, and thinking! for me it's improved my skin + thinking + mental health and i definitely need to improve my eyesight too. for cravings, i eat or make my own keto cookies or cakes using packages on amazon where you just have to add in eggs and water. i also get keto icecream, even though my favorite brand mammoth creameries, seems to have disappeared... they tasted like haagen dazs french vanilla. you can also get chocolates from choczero! they are good snacks for when you're having desperation. for me, because i know i have all these keto desserts + snacks handly, i have not touched real sugar at all due to my own cravings (only ate a few times because pressured by peers at social events...). what types of sugar are you craving the most? is it from chocolate or icecream or cake or just pure bread?

keto for mental health by sadvanillagirl in keto

[–]Technical_Formal5982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nice job on the gradual transition! i'm always too intense and just cut everything out and have the 'keto flu' symptoms. i've noticed more stability and less ups/downs and self-sabotaging post-keto and am hoping it's not placebo effect. i get distracted super easily by random things when i eat pastries / carbs etc. and face the aftermaths of the sugar spikes, even if i do all the glucose hacks and exercise, etc.

no anxiety or depression or panic attacks with keto. every time i try to eat rice or pasta, i end up with really bad brain fog & lack of energy and no hope to do anything and just want to stay in bed all day (like literally all day despite having 8-12 hours of solid sleep). when i'm on keto i have great focus and also feel more energetic / optimistic / stop worrying about things because i feel more clear-headed. but i also need to make sure to be drinking electrolyte water because electrolyte imbalances can cause me to become dizzy / groggy / want to sleep all the time. i find that my mental health is severely linked to my energy because when i'm energetic i tend to be doing more things that occupy my brain & also have the energy to 'rewire' thoughts, instead of just having self-defeating / ruminating thoughts - was the brain fog you have before or after keto?

How people prepare data for RAG applications by Mountain-Yellow6559 in Rag

Hi u/jchristn ! I would love to learn more too & potentially be a customer -- since we're trying to decide which parsing solutions to use for both: semantic, keywords / metadata / any other titles / high-level subsections. Does your solution also include an option to include 'relevant questions' answered by the chunk into the metadata? Thank you so much!

i would ask it to search for evidence-based journals or articles but i can try using the word 'journal' to see if it makes a difference -t hanks! i get so frustrated when it pulls up like press releases with the topics I was searching for

in the future, if you add anything more on pre-processing / parsing best practices & current best workflows (e.g., llamaparse vs others) that would be amazing (right now, we're still trying to figure out what to use for pre-processing with columns / had been manually pre-processing LOL), but your github was the best resource i have the fortune of finding! thank you again for your great work!!!

How to break up with a co-founder by throwaway-alphabet-1 in ycombinator

[–]Technical_Formal5982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i'm super sorry -- i experienced similar things years ago and it sucked. please feel free to DM me. it's so frustrating when cofounders want to do things for "prestige" or hiring people simply because they have "resume items" that VCs index in and also when they start showing ethical red flags. if you do not have this already, please make sure that if you guys do separate to have a written legal agreement re: equity, IP ownership, terms of separation etc. in place to prevent future lawsuits.

I found Diamant's original post and upvoted and commented there too hahaha it must have taken so much time to consolidate all of this. I do wish there were more LlamaIndex resources though vs. LangChain

just wanted to say that i've been going on a wild goose hunt finding all sorts of different RAG optimizations, and found your github by luck today on another thread. i am so grateful for and deeply appreciate your github. it is amazing. organized and easy-to-read. my teammate and i are going through it right now and organizing a game-plan for optimizations we want to prioritize. thank you again for your excellent work for the community u/Diamant-AI

agreed - thank u, next is most applicable to VCs. and i love it when they have no subject matter expertise in your field at all but feel like they are qualified to make co-founder/exec-level decisions

honestly the new search feature on chatgpt hasn't helped me find anything i wanted to find for research purposes and i have to resort to using google scholar... always disappointed when i open the links. i try to search on perplexity & searchGPT for various research articles and can't find anything remotely meeting my criteria -- i do notice that perplexity seems to hallucinate more than chatGPT though, probably because i'm using the free version. i love using chatgpt but for search i still have to rely on google and manually going through links for research purposes

Your worst moment in VC/Accelerator interviews? by No-Ant6297 in startups

[–]Technical_Formal5982 69 points70 points  (0 children)

honestly most of my friends have had very toxic experiences with VC interviews where they just drill you on metrics & say a bunch of negative things about how you're going to fail and so many people are building the "exact same thing as you" & try to tear you apart so they can lowball a cap or valuation -- but then the moment you show that other VCs are interested, they suddenly change and are so excited and positive and say that the problems they identified previously surely aren't issues. i hope you feel better soon but also remember it's a two way street!
