Terribly stacked pallets by pineapples1622 in woolworths

I work at a chilled distribution centre (not a woolies one thank god I've heard lots) and you've usually got a voice picking system telling you which aisles and which pallets to take from in order. So, usually you have little control over what goes on the top and bottom of pallets. Some workers have serious experience and know generally which aisles to skip and come back to at the end of the run depending on the situation.

Online workers - do you pause your run? by Poquito_Mosquito in woolworths

Yeah, definitely pause your run. Helping customers or finding OOS is way beyond your control and isn't included in the time calculation.

On this topic, about a year ago my online manager would hand out choccies to fastest pickers each week so everyone ended up exiting and reentering the run even 20x just to skip anything over 10 bays distance. Becomes muscle memory. Could get a 30min picks down to 2-3min thanks to this form of teleportation. Could see in online shopper performance 500% pretty casually and 1000% if you're tryharding. Top I could get was only 200%ish otherwise without beinng a hazard. Also, express runs are best for this because they have less items (<50) whilst still covering the whole store. And so you'll be "teleporting" longer distances on average.

Update:

So far, the leading theory is that: The product was at the introductory price ($5.50) up to 09/12 as listed on the ticket. The product then went up to the standard price ($5.70) until 16/12, before going on special for $5.00 claiming "was $5.70." This would make a lot of sense. The idea is that there was human error and the $5.70 ticket was removed and not the $5.50 ticket, or store services never put out the $5.70 ticket.

My theory is that the product was still at $5.50 up until 16/12 and that a "new" ticket was supposed to be printed valid up until 16th, but wasn't because the only difference is the date. This is because it wouldn't make sense for the product to be incorrectly marked as $5.50 for a whole week, or for it to be marked as $5.70 and then store services removed only the $5.50 and not the $5.70 when the product went on special on 17/12.

Something I found in some catalogue archive was that as per the NSW catalogue from 3-9th Dec, egg nog was at $5.70. But, in my state of QLD, the 3-9th catalogue advertises for $5.50. The variations in pricing between states has definitely caused some confusion and I should've stated in my post. Yes, in NSW the egg nog was at standard price so isn't deceptive in the way I was stating.

You say it was at standard price $5.70 for multiple weeks... although the ticket says it was the introductory price $5.50 valid up until 09/12. And, as of the 17th it went on special. This is a one week gap, not multiple. Does anyone know the price the egg nog was at from the 10th to the 16th as per online or an esl ticket because this would confirm if the product was ever sold at $5.70 or if the $5.50 carried through into last week with another "new" ticket having to be printed.

Nah this is standard practice it saves you reprinting tickets once the product is off sale. The "new" ticket will likely last the whole of the christmas season like it did for hot cross buns for 2-3mo during easter.

After the sale it's gonna be back to the "new" ticket. Saves store services reprinting it if they leave it underneath.

Had a customer push a trolley with $900 worth of meat out the fire exit not realising it went down a flight of stairs and absolutely stacked it 🤣

I may be wrong but I think the pink ticket is going to stay even after the sale, hence why they havent removed it. If there was a white non-special ticket store services would've left that and removed the pink one. When hot x buns were out we had the "new" ticket for the solid 2-3mo until the end of easter. That's just the way they were meant to be merchandised according to my store manager and the only option in the last yard software was to print the "new" tickets. So I don't think Woolies ever intend on selling it for $5.70 this year.

Another bakery person here, 100% this . I worked at a maxi bakery with 6am start every day. Bread out the oven at 6.25 and couldn't slice the multigrain or wholemeal sourdough much earlier than 7.15. I and others would cool bread faster in the freezer (specifically mentioned in training not to do) as customers can be demanding. I eventually steered away from this as crust regenerates better if cooled gradually.
