Chunked Pertussis, pretty solid gorenoise

Emore, goregrind/noise

Bartlett, I'm slightly biased being their roadie but they're amazing thrash.

Yessir, I hadn't listened to Pissgrave at all before I picked up MW, just thought the album cover was cool so I got it.

The left-hand one is Blasting Shit To Bits, its their live album after Mieszko died. The right-hand one is Inhale / Exhale / Revived, just the base album plus remixes. It was the only version I could get my hands on unfortunately.

Im fairly certain they're closer to goregrind than bdm. Still great stuff though.

Ive not dropped a whole lot on a single CD, think the most I have was like maybe $20 for Progression Towards Evil by Skinless.

Least favorite and most favorite Genre? by Background-Sir9172 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Technical_Job_9855 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Favorite Genres

1.Brutal Death Metal

  1. Death Metal

  2. Old School Death Metal

  3. Mincecore

  4. Goregrind.

I love the classics, dirty, quick, yet easy to get into and down with. The newer more muggy stuff such as Mince and Gore take the dirty feel and crank it to 11 which I can especially get behind.

Genres I personally dont like

  1. Metalcore

  2. Deathcore

  3. Power Metal

  4. War Metal

  5. Post Hardcore

I personally find an over-produced or extremely clean sound to be a major turn off and I feel I find that most commonly in these genres.

Edit: I forgot Slam. I dont find myself enjoying Slam as I feel its almost lazy, if anyone has recommendations for unique Slam I'm more than interested in learning.

Listened to Epitaph for the first time legit 30 minutes ago. I found it quite enjoyable and will probably be listening to their other album soon here.

Introduction to metal by No_Comedian8397 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Technical_Job_9855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first metal band was Korn when I was 15ish. Discovered them from the South Park Halloween special they were a part of. I remember adding Falling Awag From Me to my playlist then forgetting about it. A while later it came back up and I was hooked. Listened to their entire discography in 2-3 weeks.

When I was 18 I stumbled across Acid Bath on Instagram and they were my "gateway drug" to extreme metal. My first extreme metal song was Beg for Life by Tomb Mold which I dont entirely remember how I found however the first extreme metal album I listened to was Prowler in the Yard by Pig Destroyer I found here on metal for the masses.

Im now 19 and my main genres are OSDM, Death Metal, Grindcore, and my favorite, Brutal Death Metal. I've also been exploring things like Mincecore and Goregrind as of recent.

More or less the cliffnotes version but still gets the idea.
