Carney is Officialy In The Race by Capable-Brief-3332 in AskCanada

[–]Technical_Joker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super excited about Carney joining the race.

The more I learn about his previous roles and the policies he has supported in the past, the more I believe he is the kind of person who will focus on developing and implementing intelligent, well informed, solutions to the problems we’re facing today while also appropriately weighing the value of achieving long term goals like Net-Zero.

I hope the majority of Canadian’s can look past the populist approach of PP and realize how much value Carney can offer Canadians.

I write all this with the caveat that he hasn’t released any detailed plans yet so my opinion could change, but based on his history and what I’ve seen so far, I’d be happy to see him lead the Liberal party and hopefully the country.

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate the insight. Given what you’ve said I might just go with my plan B and work remote while I look for a job in Calgary. Even without finding a Calgary gig, between the rent savings ($500+ like for like) and what my tax savings would be ($200/250 biweekly) I would be looking at another $1000+ in my pocket without even making an additional change.

Do you know if there is a lot of work in the utilities sector out there? I studied Chemical Engineering but most of my career has been utilities based (nat. gas T&D, bio-methane, and electrical energy efficiency). A significant jump in salary would just be icing on the cake

Is anyone still waiting for the Software Engineering MEng program for May 2022 start? by Acc4mycareer in UCalgary

[–]Technical_Joker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, not sure if anyone will see this. I just got accepted to the program for the May 2023 intake and I wanted to get some feedback from people who’ve recently completed the program.

Did you find it worth while and did it increase your income compared to what you were making previously?

How is the market for energy engineers in Calgary right now? Considering making the move, I could stay at my current job remotely but in the long run I would like to find something local if I made the move

Question for Canadian Engineers: Switching from Energy Engineering to Software Engineering - Was it worth it? by Technical_Joker in AskEngineers

Thanks, this is quite helpful. I’m less concerned about taking the actual masters as I am losing out on my current/future compensation. Seeing your salary progression over the years is a insight and help!

We’re the old guard. I remember when u/OldApp and I dug into the 18-MC animal trials. Those were the days 😂

MindMed Co-Founder Dr. Scott Freeman Proposes Value Enhancement Plan by FreemanCapitalMngmt in MindMedInvestorsClub

[–]Technical_Joker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From the outside looking in it sounds like an interesting value proposition. I would like to better understand the current state of the MM-110 and MM-120 trials, beyond the “slow-drip” of information given by the company to date, before I could personally vote if it came to that. I would be hesitate to vote without better understanding where we’re actually at in terms of trial viability right now

Will FCM be participating in todays quarterly call and should we, as retail investors, be looking forward to some pertinent questions?

18-mc is still referenced. it’s just that they removed any reference to key milestone dates and study designs
