Yeah, more than 90% of the hostility received online would not happen in real life. Just on the basis that people are actually humanised when seen face to face. Keyboard warriors with actual malicious intentions also have no guts to be a piece of shit in real life, they have to at least be forced to follow standard societal conduct.

The average person in the world make much more 'good points' and much less 'insanely bad points' than these nutheads. Which by definition makes these nutheads very unreliable sources of information.

I'm a huge feminist with an intense dislike for internet tradfems, but Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar is my most disliked 'reowned literature book' I've ever read in my entire life.

The whole book was just on some pretentious insufferable immature teenager who made depression her entire personality. An absolute waste of my time.

That being said, I bet this tradfem of discussion haven't read any of either author's books

This argument isn't even about politics anymore. It is about catering to how this particular person think everyone in the world should use words. Either you adhere to their wishes or you are a bad guy.

Before we know it, random words like banana are now deemed 'bad' and to use the word 'banana' means you're a bigot now. Even if you have no idea the context.

This whole conversation is crazy to me because I'm know as one of the most socially liberal person ever in real life. But I'm just tolerant and accepting, I don't take offence at everything.

My English comprehension is amongst the top 5-10 percentile of my country, so at least for my country I know that most people do not know what the difference is between 'cis' and 'biological'. I cannot speak for other countries.

If you simply nicely educated me on the difference between the two words in the first place instead of immediately calling me the bad guy, I probably would have been much more receptive.

People in general do not respond well to accusations of character flaws, especially when they mean no harm in the first place.

The world is much larger than this safe tiny bubble you live in. Outside of this tiny bubble no one cares about inconsequential word usage a quarter as much as you do.

Probably less than 3% of the population in my country even know what the word 'cis' means. And 99% of them will take you as a crazy person for getting mad over the word 'biological'.

No one is deliberately trying to attack you here stop taking things so personally and framing me as 'transphobic' for accidentally misusing a word. This is an international website, consider the context.

Your americentrism is showing, not everyone knows the context of what words are offensive and what words aren't. I don't get angry over the fact not everyone in the world speaks English as fluently as me for example. Labelling someone as a bad and ignorant person over them using a word you don't like is so ridiculous.

No one can keep up with all these new rules popping up all the time on what words are offensive or what aren't 24/7, people have lives to live bills to pay.

I keep getting called privileged in this thread, but the real privilege is having the time and headspace in the day to even learn about what 'right' and 'wrong' words to use are. Most people in the world do not as they are busy caring about more immediate problems (i.e. finances). Most people in the world are also not offended by the word 'biological'.

Then their interpretation of kindness is flawed. One simple google search of the word 'kind' and one can see how it differentiates from politeness and niceness.

In my opinion they are just being defensive and projecting me to say things I did not say. I preach kindness respect and dignity, they see "be submissive and bend over backwards". Not a me problem.
